i currently have both bikes, and looking from your angle, if the 450 is in good nic i'd do it. the 450 is alot easier to ride and honestly theres not that much maintenance, yamaha build a pretty bulletproof engine. the yz450 are a very wide bike though which is a big thing to take in consideration.

very nice! i picked up a freshy, yz 250 a couple of weeks back. coming from the yz 450 its been the most fun ive had riding in a while being on a 250 two stroke!

i liked that reeds finally put a full time rider on. but reed always said he wanted someone who can win championships and as much as grant is one of my favourite guys out there, i dont think he is capable of winning a title. i just dont understand reeds decision.

ive got one, for racing purposes my advice would be to consider a skinier bike, also the front end is real light but other than that a pretty solid bike. at 65kg (dunno what that is in pounds lol) its not the easiest thing to throw around at my weight so thats the main reason i dont like the width...

isnt the saying you cant win a championship in the first race but you can lose one? i mean look at dean wilson for example.. i expected exactly that sort of ride out of cp

there was this one time when a guy named brian deegan won his first race and ghosted his bike over a finish line double.. oh yeah, no, not at all

josh hill is incredibly smooth, one can only imagine how quick he would be if he loosened up a bit and rode a bit looser like the likes of villo or barcia

but im not jgr and they couldnt care less what i would do

if i were jgr i would write off the next few years and keep similar riders to what the have now to keep the 450 development going. but invest there money into developing an up and coming lites rider similar to what kawi are doing with ac.
