1/7/2025 1:27pm Steel sprockets, black chains, diecut numbers and pump fuel. Buy aftermarket oil filters in a bundle and buy older gear that’s on sale no matter the brand. Let’s be honest though most people want the new gear and shiny bike with graphics for the Insta bangers and everything else comes after that, not many soul riders left these days.

1/7/2025 11:51am Have a set of spare wheels, and have the right tyres on it, if its dry as fuck, run the old tyre, if its prime, run the new ones. And if its wet in the morning and dry in the afternoon, swap them out. I had 2 bikes, one with hard pack tyres, and one with sand tyres, and rode whichever one the tyres were right for... they are both still good to go. They are old Evo bikes, i wouldnt have 2 new ones, but a spare rear wheel to save a tyre is money well spent. Last year's...

1/7/2025 10:45am The last year has been interesting for my wife and I at the track. We've met a couple younger folks who are pretty new to the sport, and are very obviously hooked. After you've been in the sport for a while you kinda learn where to spend your money, and where it's ok to cut corners, or buy something cheaper...

12/31/2024 10:48am Didn't have the 295.... But I did have an EGR 265 kit on my 2009 YZ250. Absolutely loved that bike, loved the engine, and my experience with Eric was a good one. I elected to go 265 vs 295 to keep most of the stock engine character and have it be a little easier to jet. An 8oz (I think...

12/24/2024 8:20am Okay, I have some pent-up anger and thoughts on some situations I've dealt with in just the past 12 months I'll lay out here since it's a little fitting to the situation. At the end of the day, I sorta get it when insurance rates are going through the moon at these tracks and I'm sorry to say this, but in my opinion a good chunk of this blame is on riders and track operators. As one user here has mentioned, the poor quality of riders and their actions at local tracks continue to blow my mind. I went to...

12/15/2024 6:54am Nothing happened between KMR and myself. Everything was fine. Financially, the deal did not make sense to me or my family, so I had to step away. Flights, hotels, mechanic’s pay (possible mechanics flights as well unless my mechanic agreed to be Lead Mechanic to the program), suspension build / components / service, handle bars , ECU’s, grips, practice bike parts, was all on me to purchase. I was given my helmet to sell for financial gain, 4 logos on jersey, a few small logos on airbox, to sell to help fund my season. I was no longer going to...

12/4/2024 10:31pm i get taken to hospital, the nationwide mandatory Accident Compensation Corporation system pays for the ambo or helicopter, and all health care , and after a one week stand down, 80% of my income is paid to me till i am able to work again, (or in my case as a business owner, the amount i insure and pay for is paid to me) (the standown is usually paid for by the sick days which you have (10 days a year) we don't have insurance issues closing down tracks here, if you accept ACC payments, you can not sue for...

10/14/2024 5:03am This is a fair question, if taken at face value. And the answer would be enlightening for many young people who are considering a similar career in the dirt bike industry. And it’s just interesting trivia for the rest of us. Weigandt is fortunate enough to probably benefit from several income streams: salary from Racer Productions, NBC Sports payroll, and maybe a cut of the sponsorship monies from his podcast. He definitely works hard and earns his keep. And there’s nothing wrong with us wanting to know the ballpark figures. Generally speaking, income secrecy best serves the interest that pays...

9/27/2024 10:43am Forgot that I had weighed the Tech 10s and the 22s. Same size for both. The Astars (with bootie) were 5oz lighter per boot on my little postage scale.

9/26/2024 8:02am I was also a die hard SG10 fan back in the day. Never able to get along with the 11 or 12 though, so I've been on Tech 10s for a while. Picked up a pair of 22s a few months back when Bobs had a sale. They are definitely comfortable for my feet, but I couldn't get over how...

9/24/2024 9:32pm Bike 2 was brand new with 0 hrs on it. So she came apart and everything was brillo’d and shined up nice. I went to my bolt drawer and found a oil cap and she goes right on. The PC gear shifter part number is YSL19250. If it’s not “in stock” on the website, just call the shop and ask them for that part number. I remove the short radiator overflow hose and just add a longer one that runs down the bottom of the frame. As far as the start buttons goes I’m making my own. If you notice...

8/7/2024 2:06pm Couple things come to mind that haven't been mentioned yet. • Keep an eye on chain tension and alignment. Running your chain way too tight puts a lot of tension on it deep in the shock stroke. Too loose brings it's own problems as well. The old three finger rule doesn't work for every bike. Rear wheel alignment helps things...
