The fact the his sons are involved means he is involved and yes perhaps not directly but they will surely draw on his vast experience and knowledge of how to handle this situation. Also i am sure some of their funding came from their dad to do this whole venture so again he will step in to protect his investment...

Eddie Cole is surely not going to just go away, so it will be an interesting battle to follow, as his Industry experience far outweighs Leatt. I am sure he has also had his fair share of court room battles to and with his previous company selling neck rolls etc from way back that might come into play to. Surely...
The helmet and brace point is very valid. Nexis states that their is a difference with different helmets on their website. Besides that no other manufacturer has made this point. Does this mean they have not looked at it, probably! From what you say about snell/ansi/dot etc their would surely be a difference in performance with a neck brace and...
Atlas and Nexis have both claimed to be showing their testing soon which will show how their products work. Atlas still has only got a landing page on their website so hopefully their launch at Eichma means they will launch the site to. Right now none of the manufactures SHOW testing or anything technical/medical about how their products work, so...

These were the pics from Steel City. Heard the clip failed and the zoomed pic shows the clip IN PLACE on the rear, so the attachment to the front section must have broken off. From this the guess is he just lost confidence in the product.

RCMXracing, you are 100% correct with your testing explanation. As this is such a new area of safety all the expertise lies within the various manufactures right now, assuming they are all doing testing of their own. The real solution is for all the manufactures to collaborate together and pool their testing knowledge, not their product knowledge, and together create a test protocol thats is for the greater good of safety in this sport. Of course there needs to be a body of independent experts to oversee the whole process and validate it. The real solution to testing is to...

HNR Engineer Added a comment about feature First Look: Nexis 211 DX Neck Brace

TheStig, without turning this into a Leatt thread, took a look as you suggested at the Leatt Test page and see that the testing is done with a dummy from the rib cage up (lower torso and legs removed) and bolted to a pivoting arm. Please shed some light on how the Hybrid III is still biofedelic with these modifications??? Also from a quick google search, the Hybrid III is designed for frontal impact only (Flexion) ie airbag testing. So for Extension testing does Leatt use a RID Dummy and for Lateral Flexion does it use a SID Dummy cause...

Heard about this brace a couple of months ago and been waiting for some more info, so good to see its out the bag now. There website is just a landing page which is a little disappointing so hopefully they open it up soon with some good info. The statement in the vital interview says it is the first flexible...

Cornel, Just a few quick questions to your informative comments. Is the 300N breaking force applied at the tip of the thoracic piece, at 90 deg? Leatt has previously quoted it at 45psi. The 9000N limit for back protectors, is that also applied at the T5-T8 part of the back? If that is the limit for back braces what is...

This is what i did yesterday after reading through this post. Search this forum (or any other) for "injury" and read a couple of the threads. Do a search in Google for the injured persons name in Google Images and see if they are wearing a neck brace. A few things stood out, similar story, similar injuries and so on...
