Wrong angle dude! A steady, solid roost was flying off of Stewart's rear tire all the way to impact. Look at the knobs on the front tire compared to the knobs on the rear tire in your picture. Rear tire is obviously spinning faster than the front tire meaning he was hard on the gas. Good first post though and thanks for the picture...

James is railing the outside line hard, and you think he is going to anticipate Reed riding straight across the entire track towards the front row??? WTF. JS is supposed to reef on the front brakes and flip himself over the bars so he doesn't get Taken out by Reed!!!
Yup great "pass" by Reed, thats why they both crashed and he lost 2 points in the process! Brilliant!
Lets quit calling it a block-pass and call it by its real name, A TAKE OUT MOVE, pure and simple.

A take out move would be if Chad hit James front wheel or his bike, but as you can see in the picture he is clearly blocking James.

chad wasnt close enough (isnt fast enough) to make a block pass so he took the weak sissy route, to cheat.

Cheated? Sorry, but I don't recall any rules being broken or any penalties handed down.

I'm way late on this topic, but I just made it to a computer so forgive me. What happened was Reed block passed Stewart, but Stewart decided that he would rather take them both out than lose the race fair in square. Had it been a true take out by Reed, he wouldn't have angled down as much on the corner. He would have banged into Stewart much higher in the berm and sent Stewart over the TuffBlox. Reed instead decided to make as clean of a move you can make on the last lap. He cut down hard and made sure Stewart had plenty of time to see him there so Stewart would hit the brakes and take second in the race. Stewart obviously would have none of that. If you say it was a dirty move by Reed you clearly shouldn't even be posting on this forum. Then after this ordeal Stewart decides he would rather mess with Reed the rest of the race and let Dungey by. It was only justice that Reed got by Stewart too. If you look at the track you'll notice that was the last 180 degree turn on the track until the last turn, which Stewart would have went inside on. Despite it being shortly after the lap started, it was really Reed's last chance to make the pass. Another point to bring up... How many times from 2003 to 2007 did Reed and Carmichael block each other? Too many to count. And how many times did they both go down in a turn? Never. 2005 San Diego Supercross is the best example I can think of for that argument. So to point the finger at Reed in this situation is just plain stupid. Clearly Stewart's fault, as most of his crashes with other riders are. Just for fun I'm going to mention that Carmichael would have squared that turn up, cut inside of Reed, and went on for the win. Carmichael was so good at that. Apparently Stewart just doesn't have the awareness that all the greats have.

anyone that can't see that Reed had position on James is either in love with 7, doesn't understand racing, or just plain can't deal with reality. Chad's wheel is in the perfect place for a block pass. I have to admit when I saw it in real time I thought it was borderline dirty but after the replay it was obviously a clean move.
Reed is a DIRTY RIDER... Pulled this same shit last year and it took both of them out for the series.. Reed doesn't have the speed to run with Stewart for 20 laps.. The only way he can beat Stewart is dirty shit like he did above.

Reed is a DIRTY RIDER period.

Yeah because this pass happened on the first lap. There's no way Reed could have hung with him the entire way and do this on the last lap is there? This wasn't dirty at all and the crash was Stewart's fault anyway. Stewart actually took himself out of the 2010 series by cutting off Kyle Partridge over a triple jump and breaking his own wrist in the process. Then Stewart and Reed came together in an almost identical crash as Atlanta, which was the crash that took Reed out of the series. Get your facts straight before you come out here accusing Chad Reed of being a "dirty rider who always pulls this shit".

The AMA officials had no problem with Chad's move. Now if his front wheel had been aimed anywhere between the two axles? That would have been another story.

The move that Hansen did on Cunningham at San Diego was exactly the same style passing maneuver.

It just was not for the lead.

I wouldn't say it was a block pass, maybe just block.
Anyway I think James has had enough and if someone wants to pull this then he is going to get rammed. Eventually Reed may tire of this move. It is not an uncommon move but these guys have history, so it gets heated.

If The Fastest Man On The Planet wishes to avoid being block-passed perhaps he should put some space between himself and his inferior rivals during the preceeding 19 laps.

He was trying to do that at Daytona, get out front & stay out of trouble.
He saw a Monster girl checking him out, so he popped a wheelie up the face of a jump & it didn't work out so well for him.
All the top riders should be prepared to get a little dirty on the last lap!!
Great to see some last lap action between 2 riders going for it.

Yeah got some good ones mostly during the morning with good light, we had two F-22's come here which were static only for the show as the demo pilot had something else going on in the U.S. But I did get to see them leave on Monday after the show with a take off and vertical climb, they waited for the tankers to take off and did a slow formation fly by before heading to Darwin.

First F-22 after take off and climbing

First I would like to apologize for bumping an almost month old thread. But after what just happened with Stewart and Villopoto last night, I feel like it needs to be done. You can't defend Stewart in both cases. Just sayin.
