Interesting. Hopefully it will be inexpensive. We don't need another $500 or $600 neck brace. We need a quality product that the average guy can afford for him and his kids.

Where's the research data?

How'd they test it?

Where's the research data?

What prevents the metal hinge from breaking and severing an artery?

Where's the research data?

What prevents the cable from severing your head in a crash?

Where's the research data?

Are they paying royalties to Leatt?

Where's the research data?

Is it patented?

Where's the research data?

Can I copy them?

Where's the research data?

Just saving everyone else the hassle of asking the list of questions that comes up every time a neck brace thread pops up...

MSRP $299.
And it doesn't rest on your spine or sternum. Looks like the collarbone protection might be better too.
Those are my 3 biggest beefs with the Leatt.

Are you qualified to check these things? Where is your degree from? Where is the data you are compiling? Are you a doctor? Are you a biomedical engineer? People are going to want to know these things.

And people get smarter as new things come out and begin to ask more questions.

I'm qualified to Ask questions, shoot photos and video, and to package it up here for dissection by rocket surgeons and regular forum members. Smile

Newmann, you're an old school guy. Did you ask for research on the effectiveness of Jofas, and whether it was better left dangling from the right or left side?

And just as an FYI, do you believe dyno charts provided by manufacturers?

No, I had enough common sense to figure some things out on my own. But that doesn't work for the new generation of message board afficianados. They need to see the research data. Speaking of, where's the research data? Wink

There is no research data yet. It says so in the description.
Instead of doing the research first and then building the brace, he is going the other way around: Build something comfortable and THEN do the research.
All I can say is go ahead, you try it first...

Is it supposed to sit on top of a chest protector? What's with the over design?

KISS - anymore then that and it's overkill.

At least the idea is progressing. Now lets wait for the lawsuit.

My son has been using an Omega, and I really like it. This one looks like it might be a little sturdier and safer than the Omega, but less restrictive than the Leatt - kind of in the middle. But whatever, as long as it doesn't rest on the spine and sternum, I like it.

Heard about this brace a couple of months ago and been waiting for some more info, so good to see its out the bag now.

There website is just a landing page which is a little disappointing so hopefully they open it up soon with some good info.

The statement in the vital interview says it is the first flexible brace to come out. The Omega has been out for about 2 years now and it is flexible so i presume they are taking about the hinge points on the pads. The hinges look like they are there for fit and comfort and not any kind of performance or energy absorption.

Also not to sure about the over the head fitment thing. Guys with big heads might have a problem.

Anyway, it is good to see that companies are thinking things through and providing the market with some options.

Bring it on all you NEW manufactures out there!!!!!!!!

Has anybody gotten their hands on one of these or ridden with it yet? This design looks to have addressed the design features of other braces that have kept me on the neck brace sidelines to date. The broader non centralized chest and back supports as well as the chest suspension system have really peaked my interest.

Someone help me pull the trigger!

We need a neck brace shootout. Major respect to the first magazine/website/industry insider to do so. And to the test riders.

Atlas is fronted by the same guy who runs Matrix Canada (the guys who make the bike stands, etc.). They must have paid a lot of money for that fold-out ad they put in the January issue of MXA. His name is Brady Sheren, a former Canadian pro racer who raced a few supercrosses.

I want to see the research! Before something that claims to protect the spinal cord goes to market it should have been researched and proven, otherwise no claims of it protecting anything can really be made.
