2/29/2024 11:04pm Surprised I haven’t seen it on this thread yet, but the photo of JS7 on his kawi seconds after gate drop headed down the start straight of Glen Helen looking right into the camera. Iconic for sure.
Backboards haven't been recommended for most traumatic injuries since 2013 when the National Association of EMS Physicians recommended the switch from Spinal immobilization to Spinal Motion Restriction. Evidence was spotty at best for using a backboard and more studies show that it can cause more harm in some cases and most likely doesn't prevent spinal injuries from occurring after an accident. Not to say a backboard isn't useful in certain scenarios but they obviously assessed him quickly after the accident and determined it wasn't necessary. Backboard use was based on data in the 70s when Spinal Immobilization became a thing...

Mx is very high impact, all other training or exercise should be low impact, like swim, cycling ect. Plenty of stretching, proper hydration and diet. Let injuries heal, this is tough as we all try to come back to soon. Stay away from pain killers. I”m 56, been racing and riding since 18 years old. When you stop everything physical , the pain gets worse. Golf is not a sport.

As per usual with the broadcast they overdid their 'storylines' massively. They must have mentioned the money hundreds of times, plus the stupid 'world championship' bollocks. It was great racing tonight but give the public a break, this is not a proper world championship. You can slam the FIM all you want but it least they have some history in motorsports so when they sanction something it tends to mean more. SMX is not a world championship, it's three races tacked onto the end of two real championships. At least the Monster Cup didn't claim to be a world championship...
