I saw someone on twitter post that he had a rough free practice, and then he wasn’t out in the first timed session. Anyone got any more info? I sat in the stadium in Arlington last week watching his meltdown. Great starts in both the Heat and LCQ and a progressive fade out of qualifying spots. I started thinking that in the 18 years that I’ve been watching I’ve never seen a factory rider do this. We’ve seen factory guys miss mains, but normally there was first turn crashes or bike failures to blame. Never have I seen a guy...

Seems like they aren't teaching him shit. Factory bike and not being able to even make 250 East mains isn't great. I'm with Matthes, Covington should be better.

I know 2 people that ride at Carmichaels, you just pay X amount of money to ride there during SX or the MX season, or both. There is really no training there other than RC mom helps with lap times and the periodic help whenever Ricky is there, but Ricky usually is never there, just here or there. That being said I have no clue why Covington isn't at Aldons, my only guess is maybe Aldon didn't want to take anyone else on ? Or maybe Covington didn't want to do it, not sure, I do know my 2 buddies...

He’d better smoke everyone outdoors (and I sincerely hope he is battling for wins, we need more fast guys there) or this will be his last factory ride...it was his first supercross, but he didn’t look great. And I’m sure Husky isn’t paying him for top 15’s in a regional supercross series. I know all the GP fan boys are hoping he was/is going to smoke everyone so they can do the whole “he was barely top 5 in MX2, and he’s winning in America...see? GP’s are better. Told ya so!” thing.

I'm a little torn on calling GP riders rookies. Hes been racing pro for years. Justin Cooper is an actual rookie and he got on the podium. So Covington was lackluster.

To add to your list. 8. Loretta Lynn's has destroyed amateur racing. We have professional novice riders now that have their parents home school them so they can ride 24/7. They can't read or write but they can ride a dirtbike. A new racer lines up for the first time and gets lapped twice in 4 laps by these future Walmart greeters. That new racer figures this is the norm and calls it quits after their first race. He tells his buddies that it isn't worth racing because of this. Race entries tank.
