Joey went 2-10-2 tonight in Paris on a new bike. A stock bike with pipe, graphics, and suspension. The bike is fine and it suits his riding style perfect. He rides very far forward on the bike in an upright position and turns 100% with the front tire. The Suzuki is the perfect bike for his riding style, looking forward to 2020 SX I think he will surprise some of us.

So to encapsulate the results for Paris SX: Barcia: 1st with he says a stock motor and chassis on what we call the "blue pig". Savatgy: 2nd running a stock motor with exhaust and suspension bits on the bike we say is too outdated. Friese: 3rd with an off-the-dealer-floor vanilla Honda. And then there are all of us Vital goofballs worrying about whether engine mounts, or ti footpegs, or factory editions will make the difference at the local track.

Those things look great! And I love your lever position! (That's how I run mine...most people think I'm crazy). Assuming you put them there? $9K for a great bike with a bunch of unnecessary bells and whistles (estart, a little less weight, a little less power etc.) that won't make a difference at all. Or $6K for a great bike without those things...and that you will be able to go just as fast on.....I don't understand the problem...other than dirt bike riders are nuts (myself included....who just spend $9K OTD on a YZ450FX...but only because I wanted the cross country...

I actually think if anyone can overcome a little bit of drama and get some good results it’s Tony Alessi. He doesn’t get enough credit as a team manager in my opinion.

I obviously hope JH gets a good deal and does well. But I fear that JH underperforming (again) in combination with Tony could affect the rest of the team (Malcolm) negatively? Obviously there would be a huge upside to bringing in JH if he can put it together but it looks more and more like an off-chance judging from the outside. Does MotoConcecpts really need this added drama?
