Funny that competition and Racing has these things called rulebooks that deter what people are pretty sure of. If you pick any year and look to the section called Engine Specifications, which is right above Fuel Specifications for most years, it specifically states Bore and Stroke have to be the same as the homologated model. Kinda hard for it to be less direct than that.

There are no gifts in racing, if your competitor fell and you stayed on then you rode better. Hayden kept charging and put himself on a position to take advantage of the other riders mistakes. I still think Hunter takes the championship without much trouble but the way these rookies mixed it up with the more seasoned guys should at least keep the season interesting
