Well for starters Diffey used to ride and has a mx and flat track background. Can't imagine Ralph has spun too many laps.

Dude he's commentated the outdoor series, he knows the sport and has been around it for more than 30 years.

I remember watching Leigh Diffey commentating the Supercross Masters in Australia in 1998 when Reedy was in his first year as a pro. Kinda cool to think he called Reedy's first and last years as a pro rider. Still have the VHS tapes buried somewhere.

Diffey was awesome and I think Between him and Ricky it was light years better than past years. Ralph’s spastic screaming won’t be missed. Hopefully it stays Leigh and Ricky

They talked about people who were in the race , not those 20 secs off the win, There was a great battle for the lead , and 4 through 8 , when Tomac was in 10th and going nowhere. This always pissed me off before, they would follow him for laps rolling round doing nothing while the race at the front was ignored, the director made the call to follow proper action, not a guy who hasn't won the championship for the last 4 seasons.

I've been listening to Ralph so long that he is "Part Of The Broadcast" in my mind. Diffey initially got me annoyed only for the fact I wasn't seeing Ralph in the booth, but then as the broadcast went on, my mind opened up and actually appreciated the fact he didn't try to talk every damn second of the race. There is my 2 cents Bro.

I find it hard to believe that Ralph is more expensive than Leigh Diffey. Leigh is a top-level motorsports guy, doing Indy and F1 (when it was on nbc for a few years). I am much more inclined to believe they brought him in to give his input on how to improve things on the broadcast as a whole. But that being said, im sure the fired ms supercross tweet reader has the hot scoop.

So, it sounds like the network feels that Ralph is too expensive and she is irrelevant. I can’t say that I disagree with that.
