Sorry to thread mine, but great work. You really gotta go old school with cams to get the results you want I think. Can I ask who supplied the vortex mapping ? I normally find the 350 enduro's so underwhelming I just stick with my jap 250F. The EX350 can't be rego'd and has the narrower gearbox, the 24 models...

The MX33 is also made in Indonesia. My buddy and I were just having this conversation yesterday and looked on the tires (he has an MX33 and I run Pirelli).

I have mx32 mid soft fronts but week 11/2022 made in Indonesia. I also have mid soft xc rears same dates made in Indonesia. I have an older one (2020 I think) made in Brazil. I have a Mx32 mid hard rear made in Brazil built in 2021. I just put the indonesia ones on this week so no idea on durability yet. The mx32 front from Indonesia weighs the same as an mx33 front. I think the Brazil one was at least 1/2 pound lighter, but I don’t have one to weigh.

They fear cannibalizing their own sales if they offered a 350 while disregarding all of the sales that they've lost to Austria because of it.

It's Yamaha's most changed bike for 2024, yet it's flown pretty much under the radar. A 108kg electric start Jap 450 offroad bike is a first. Esp if they've given it a big boost in rideability. Sadly though I think the days of 450's being used for enduro are long gone. I wish they'd focus more on the 250 or...

That’s just the nature of carbon fiber bars. I rode/raced mtb for years and never ran carbon bars for that reason. Even a small scratch or your clamps on your levers being over tightened can compromise them. Had a carbon brake lever snap off and lacerate my calf 8” long to the bone in the middle of nowhere ..not worth it.

The 6 front sticks better than the 5 other than roots. An mx3s sticks as well or better than a 6 but still works ok on roots.

Yeah it's the first time in a while I've sworn at a rear tyre while fitting. But I felt the 5 pretty much needed tubliss or mousse to avoid flats due to how weak the walls were. I've smashed the 6 into lots of big sharp rocks at high speeds with 8psi and no pinch flats. The 5 rear handled...

Thanks alot for the info. Be interested to see how you go. I think I was only getting 12-15hrs before tearing outside knobs on the Mid-Soft from Brazil versus 50hrs from the mx eXtra from Brazil and only 5hrs from the Indonesian eXtra. I also thought the indo one was a little heavier and rubber less pliable. But felt similar...

I'm guessing you are referring to the front mostly ? I've been running the rear, it's sidewall compliance hasn't been too bad and I feel less worried about flats @8psi than the 5S. It's grip on slippery clay is pretty amazing, but I do find the silica material weird. As 'the kid' mentioned i had stepping out issues if it...

Most of the factory teams that are partnered with Dunlop are on some sort of proto or tire that differs from production. Most are based on the MX33, with different rubber compounds or carcass. Supercross puts some unusual strain on tires, so some of these changes are to work with the rigors of SX. Some are to learn more about how the MX33 works with these changes, and then there's tires like Roczen's here that are currently a race only. A version of it could eventually make it to production or it may stay a race only item depending on...

Let us know how it goes. So little feedback on these, esp in Oz. Not sure the new SC6 rears are gonna be my cup of tea.

Is anyone having issues with the Pirelli fronts lately ? and what country does yours say they are made in ? I've just had some "Made in indonesia" ones (used to say brazil) and had knobs tearing off on the first couple of rides on my mx-xtra's (outside knobs used to last ages.. about 4x as long as the mid-softs).

That is interesting because the tire being too stiff was a complaint on the older battlecross. I would like to find something with a softer rubber for roots, rocks, and ground that is too hard for the tire to dig into. How difficult were they to mount? Usually stiff sidewall tires are a pain to mount.

The thing all bike mags tend to overlook is manufacturing tolerances. So any engine off the production can be +/- 10% performance wise. So you can see how a car or bike can be 20% faster than another of the exact same model. Air boxes and mapping aren't going to make much difference.. common sense will tell you that. It's just how marketers explain it without admitting to production variances and other variables they can't explain,
