My name is Dan Laumbach I grew up racing in so cal during the early 80s and finished serious racing in the early 90s. I started riding again in 2000 and rode the So Cal tracks 2 or more times a week for close to 20 years till my right shoulder injury and humeral head replacement ended my moto days.

The thing I noticed - was that in the post-race interviews, Eli seemed to not be out of breath. Both Kenny and Cooper seemed to be breathing hard.

it's more than just the platform, the 17 CRF 450 is an excellent base to work with and isn't going to hinder him that's for sure . I agree with DV and RC, it was a bonehead move. ANYBODY who's done any amount of serious racing knows this. That's the sort of move you'd do 8 laps in when the two of you are fighting for the lead and third place is 6 seconds back and you haven't got into lappers yet. Apparently JS7 has been riding all alone on his Neverland ranch far too long.

One things for sure he didn't miss time that jump that bad something went awry completely obvious to any skilled racer, Ridge knows like a few others if he had over jumped he would've went back and braced for the OJ hit..... Valve munchers..lol @ slip.

Career ride for Weston and definitely on a new plateau.. His early laps looked incredible, passing the Dungenator was epic and he put 3-5 seconds on him, it looked like he was going to podium for sure.... Then around lap 6-7 to go it looked like he tightened up or lost control of his breathing possibly and #5 caught him...

My Favorite jump combo right handed hip then over 3 tables then a small turning triple then click up to 3rd over another table click into 4th and over a 130' step up.
