I remember when RV got the holeshot on his 250f agaisnt a BUNCH of 450f pros. MXON 2007. In some situations, less power gives you more speed because of traction. The 350 might just work better for some in SOME situation, but not most.

I like the looks of TM's, but not a huge fan of their color.

I think the fact that SOME manufacturers are making 1500cc and 300cc bikes two strokes (KTM, TM, Husaberg, GasGas & more) is a good indication that they know the rules are unfair and are gearing for a change. Not only that, big bore kits are almost as cheap as a standard rebuild and ironically cheaper than most 4 stroke rebuilds...

Just think if college baseball changed the rule that said the players using aluminum bats got 1 strike, but if you use a wooden bat, you get 3 strikes. Even though the aluminum bat is superior, and lasts longer, it loses it's competitive advantage with an UNFAIR rule change.

The amateur rules weren't changed until after the manufacturers already STOPPED making or halted development on two strokes, so I would say the cards were pretty well stacked in favor of the 4 strokes already. It's the 1997 displacement rule that started it all and has it been a free-fall downward spiral ever since. My dad raced most of his life, except for the time he was married to my mom, an emergency room ER. There was a 16 year period I wasn't allowed near a motorcycle. Now we both race, my dad races mostly Dual Sports and Enduros.

4 strokes are not longer lasting. The maintenance period for a 125 2 stroke is the same for a 250 4 stroke, but the 4 stroke will cost you 3 times as much typically. Performance add-on parts are also much more expensive for a 4 stroke. Just look at aftermarket pipes and you'll see what I mean. The resale value...
