My first race bike . 1976 YZ 125 X . The X not only had the forktop reservoirs , but also had a 520 chain instead of the 428 . Plus the larger 34mm carb instead of the C's 30mm

Don't remember seeing these guys on full sized bikes after their mini careers. 80 -100cc From old Dade city days. Danny Schmitt , Darren Pratt, Joe Nemechek (yes that Joe Nemechek). And from District 8 tracks Mickey and Rudy Haynes. Anyone know any others ?

Raced with Mark quite a bit . Both Carl and Mark's names came up a couple months ago when I ran into Kirk Youngblood's dad. We talked for quite awhile about the good old days.

I always laughed at those ads in the cycle trader back in the day that said "YZ 125 , never raced ". Felt like that meant never maintained.

Man I hated those things . When I first got them I would only wear them during practice , then switch back to High-Points during the motos. I could not feel the shifter with my toe and missed shifts a lot . Then just as I got used to them I tore my knee ligaments making a last lap Banzai...
