You have to remember that this all comes from the top, ABC/NBC etc executives do not understand motor racing and never have. All you have to do is watch old Indy 500 broadcasts to see all the "human interest" stories which they think will attract more viewers.Just look at Rick Mears battling Michael Andretti at one of the best 500's ever and they always show the wives in the pit box when they are going wheel to wheel at 200+. Do you see Michael Jordons wife when he is shooting free throws? They just do not understand motorsport, period. So...

I am willing to bet they are not getting the audience numbers they were expecting in the Spanish broadcast, this is an effort (like it or not) to bring more awareness that it exists. I see no harm in the commentators talking about it and saying it is there for folks that would prefer Spanish, but if they keep repeating part of the show (regardless of duration) in Spanish, it will start to look like desperation and get old - this is an English speaking country, I seriously doubt soccer events in England are broadcasted in Hindi. I'm surprised how hung up folks get on stock colors. This is one of amazing things about dirt bikes, you can change the color and look of the bike completely for very little money. I would never not buy a bike because of the stock colors.
