Not to derail this thread but if you believe the Deegans to be "true American hero's" you know nothing about America. I have served with both Doug and Amy and they are closer to being American hero's than any of the Deegan's. I served with Doug when he was flying F-18's off the pointy end of the USS Independence over in Japan, and served with Amy at the bureau in Millington when Casey was just a baby. I guess you and I have a different idea about what makes a person a hero.

I'm not an insider by any measure. But I've been able to ride weekday practice days with some of the best Texas has produced for years. Even some that stopped at private/public tracks in N. TX from elsewhere but on factory teams. Hahn brothers, Kyle Cunningham, both Wharton brothers, Hot Sauce Tedesco, Kyle Regal, Matt Lemoine, John Short, to name some good pros and a lot of other pros who don't maybe always make mains through the years. I don’t know why, but I just want for him to be on an outdoors only schedule. An enigma, who hides away all winter, just hammering outdoors and crushes it every year. Which would make sense to no one. But it would be badass. Outdoors and the fans are something else. If you are that good at something, why not just go all in and be the best at it. I feel like the sport loses too many rippers trying to figure out the supercross circus.

Amen to that. My buddy and I spent a long weekend at Budds in the mid-90's and I didn't spend $50 total for tickets, camping in the truck on site and entry fee. Of course, camping at the track back then meant sleeping in the back of the truck (with a topper) and using a bag/solar shower (or the freezing ones in the bath house), but man, it's nuts how much they squeeze nowadays.

With Bobby Hewitt, Dave Arnold, Ricky and the Triumph Factory behind their effort I can see why Triumph looks so much more professional. I'm happy that at least Beta is trying and it may take a few years to really have a super competitive bike but in the mean time I'll just enjoy watching their progression

$45k sticker for one of those little mavericks is craziness to me and used tacomas have always been way overpriced imo. I'll probably never sell my '07 tacoma 4 banger. Thing has 230k on it and still going.
