I’m not chasing weight savings. I go through the bike out of curiosity what could be improved. The coolant pipe looked like low hanging fruit to do something “factory”. The same principal can be said for your FMF muffler. No doubt even if i removed 5 lbs I wouldn’t tell on the track, especially when 10lbs of dirt is easily accumulated on the bike in a moto.

The changes to the frame make the bike more “flickable”, so as strange as it may sound, it feels lighter on the track than the previous gen. I had a 2019 before I bought this.

Weather your a C rider, A or pro, you're not going to see any benefit from dropping a pound or 2 of your bike. People get to cought up in the weight thing. I was that guy years ago, but realized it was a waist of time and money. It can make a difference if you can reduce a significant...

You're not going to be faster on the track by shedding 2 lbs off the bike. Hit the gym, or hit it harder if you're already working out. Drop some weight and build more strength. Much cheaper.

My last race was in 1993, I was on a 1991 KX250. When I saw the Anniversary bike I just about messed myself. It's a blend of 1990-1993 KX250's. Just waiting on FMF header pipe. Everything else is installed. Twin Air kit, FMF, P3 skid plate, hand guards, radiator guards. It rips pretty hard..

Just rode a gritty sand track up here in Minnesota and this bike is groovy af! Checked the air box after every time on the track and nothing got through into the air box at all. I’ve kept stock gearing and she pulls amazing out of corners. 3rd and 4th gear all day long. Downshifted to 2nd once because I came into the corner kind of wonky. So much fun to ride and doesn’t yank your damn arms off. Favorite Kawi I’ve ever had.

I'm running 51 and very happy with it. With opened airbox, baffles removed from exhaust and 51 rear the power on this thing is almost perfect. Can run 3rd/4th everywhere, does need a little clutch in tightest of corners but still pulls very nice.

I gotcha. Use the OE style Twin Air filter, not the traditional big domed style. But not sure I like the idea of running the Twin Air "non" flame retardant filter without the screen. Only the filter in the powerflow kit is flame retardant according to TA, not the OE style.

The Twin air filters have a hole in the center for traditional mounting. Won't dirt get sucked through the hole where the bolt/waser would normally be? Or does some sort of plug come with the cage?

I think too many people are stressing about things that do not even need to be stressed about. There are no sealing issues at all with this bike. Unless, you don’t put the filter in the cage correctly and most aftermarket filters assist any kind of issue. Take out the grommet, remove the baffles in the stock silencer, or get an aftermarket silencer and it’ll be more than we all need, again. This bike is literally amazing, and will treat anyone well.

Don't mess around with it too much or the paint will rub off. I was cleaning the frame before installing Anchor tape and noticed some of the paint started rubbing off without much effort. I can now see finger prints in the epoxy and the black bleeding through. Probably not a big deal for most, but just spent $12k and...
