Wasn't the " Play offs" an idea that NBC had? And a part of why they are paying more for the broadcast rights? It is a little gimmicky , but I think they structured it this way so that it was still be exciting and close racing . And harder to have a runaway with the champ rolling around in 9th place in the final moto/main event. If not for SMX, I doubt we would have Tomac coming back maybe since he was thinking about the MXON. But Kenny and Cooper Webb would most likely not be doing any nationals...

Justin Cooper had a nasty foot injury which prevented him from doing ANY cardio fitness. J-Mart was still able to do cardio. Not to mention I do not know many out there that train as hard off the bike as J-Mart. Dude is always hungry! Rides up front even when he IS injured.

Yes! Put him in. There have been plenty of guys who went last minute and were on winning teams. Ryan Hughes had a broken fucking wrist when they won in 2000. J Mart has over a month to get ready.

I don’t care if he’s just coming off injury, he’s already riding again, plenty of time still to get ready. Dude trains harder than most if not all the dude’s racing as it is, should be a no brainer. Dude has a ton of heart, has nothing to lose. He would hang it out for us at MXoN without a doubt, and just like he always does. 2 time 250 outdoor champion, only single digit current 250 rider, should be a no brainer. I’d pick him over Cooper alllll day.

Have you ever went through an area and regional to make it to LL? Forget what you finish at the actual race, just making it through is a huge accomplishment. To be the national champ at LL you have to race three events. That’s basically a mini series. Also, there are other nationals. Spring national, Mini Os, etc. those plus everything LL takes is a lot of racing. Even more when most of those races are 4-5 day events that take massive prep. A series could be cool, but Loretta's is truly a great format. No other race requires and Area, then a Regional, and then three long motos in a week long event. I am not sure why you are referring to it as a cash cow......nobody is required to go and is it wrong a promoter actually makes money?
