5/18/2021 6:35am In the mid 90s, I put an XR600 motor together from the ground up. The counterbalancer was a two-piece design held together with a snap ring. Imagine my joy when I had the entire motor re-assembled, in the frame and oil lines purged when I saw the counterbalancer snap ring laying on the work bench....

12/18/2020 12:05pm Another vote for the 03 KTM250SX. The motor was stupid fast with zero bottom end. The frame flexed more than my XR600. Rode it stock and had two different places revalve and respring the suspension. The forks were too rigid (48mm WPs) and overwhelmed the chassis. It seemed impossible to hit the same line two times due to flex. Headshake...

9/17/2020 12:55pm I broke mine at 38 YO; I am now 45. Multiple pins and an internal brace. No cast except the short time between the fracture and the surgery. My first ride back was 7 months after the injury.
I had a terrific PT program. I have full finger dexterity after it was all said and done. Wrist has 75%...

9/19/2019 4:27am I donate plasma to fund my motocross addiction. Extra $350 a month for a few hours of my time and my wife can’t complain what I spend my “blood money” on. Win win.

9/16/2019 4:42am Spary paint / spoke skins / pictures that seem to have been taken during an earthquake or the DTs.
baxterj787 Added a reply to 2019 YZ 250F Weak front brake
9/10/2019 9:10am YZs have used a floating rotor beginning in 2001. I have never liked the vague feel of the floating rotor. Galfer makes a solid rotor that provides a better feel IMO (all other parts being equal).

7/24/2019 4:29am How does it respond under a load (in gear / riding)? Last time I checked, the bikes are ridden, not futzed-about with on the stand. I had an 06 CRF250 that had !@#$ response in neutral but was fine under load. Maybe try some spoke skins? (that was a joke...)

7/22/2019 11:45am I don't think USA will be in contention for individual Moto wins. I do think we will be in contention for Top 3 O/A. As stated above, this depends on what kind of TEAM the other countries can assemble. Either way, I am looking forward to it.

6/27/2019 5:24am And... Don K wanted more than a year-to-year agreement for rights to the National. Kind of hard to stomach sinking massive $$ with no guarantee of ROI. It was very much a 2-way street with a lot of roadblocks in each direction.

6/27/2019 5:21am Excellent! We need to collectively pray to the baby Jesus (DC) to bring his traveling summer circus back to town! And pray further that another biblical flood doesn't take it from us again.

baxterj787 Added a reply to Were the 97-99 Honda Cr250's really that bad????????
6/17/2019 8:30am Loved my '97. Considering I had been serving time on a CR500 since 1992, I didn't really notice the vibration or the front-end push. Forks were OK once I valved / sprung them. I did notice the outright rocketship of a motor; not much off the bottom but mid and top were amazing! It was fun going to the start...

6/11/2019 11:34am Shooting RPMs are usually an air leak. Check to make sure the carb is fully seated in the intake manifold and airboot. Check the intake manifold (between the carb and cylinder) for cracks. Also, check the carb cap to ensure proper sealing. The zip-ties on the frame rails are originals. That airbox is filthy. Gotta love "never raced" field bikes...
