Early 40's here.

My original VVT design, early 2014 was literally exactly like what the GSXR came out with in 2017. Should I have patented it? Nah, too much money, would have never received anything from it. I never made those pieces, but had them drawn up in CAD. The reason I didn't go forward with that design, it just wouldn't fit under the valve cover and timing chain galley without cutting and welding. The next design used pawls that swung open under RPM and retarded sprocket. It still required grinding on head and valve cover, just no welding. I built a CRF250R...

Thx for thinking of me. But I had a big crash on 6-27 & flight for life . Died in icu a few times then 5 days in trauma @ Marshfield. 1 yr b4 I can ride again , on 11-18 I turn 60 . Fired up about that & racing Midwest vintage , Racer X vet series & Wi. 125 class.

The majority of buying & selling happens on facebook marketplace now…. That’s the only reason I joined up facebook about 5-6 years ago….that and most Mx tracks do all their updates on fbook also….there is a bit of a learning curve to dealing with fbook marketplace…..

I think it depends... Some guy wanting a ridiculous price for a clapped out bike isn't going to get it and it sits for sale and gives the perception that the market sucks. It does suck but good, fairly priced bikes go quickly so you aren't seeing those. I sold this restored Honda pretty quickly and I have a KX500 that is nearing completion that I will be selling and I think that will go quickly too.

variable cam timing would be cool. but maby to heavy on a small mx bike engine.

Except James Povolny has dozens of top 20 MX and SX finishes in the 250 class from the same era.

We hear that concern a lot, but there are many dealers like Get Dirty Dirt Bikes that will ship you parts right away. https://www.getdirtydirtbikes.com/ Parts aren’t an issue like most people think, just can’t use the usual Rocky Mountain etc. for OEM parts

TM’s are effectively works bikes with the way they are built. If they had anywhere near the track testing and setup time that the other bikes had, it would be highly competitive. Gorgeous bikes, maybe the best looking on the market.
