I live in Indiana and the only good thing about it is it’s cheap. That is literally the best thing about it. I miss snowboarding and stopping by GH to burn some laps on the way home. Everyone here tells me they hate California. Of course, the only place 90% of everyone here has ever been outside the Midwest is Florida.

Liking or disliking California or any other state for that matter is a political thing now. If you’re one of those people that’s super wrapped up in the news and social media 24/7, you’re not allowed to say you like a state if it’s known for having different political opinions than you do. There was a guy here not long ago posting stuff like, “I care too much about my country and family to support a place like California.” It’s like, ok dude calm down 🙄

Cahuilla is the best track in the area. I would make it a priority to ride there and Glen Helen.

The point is unfortunately for our society a black person having some sort of struggle just due to the colour of their skin is almost guaranteed which is why I'd suggest they try to concentrate more on their history in the States for a month to hopefully bring more understanding.. Why do certain groups have to get so butt hurt by other groups being recognized or commended? This really shouldn't be divisive for any mature adult, yet some people act like acknowledging other groups somehow diminishes their group. This isn't a fight for the last piece of pizza, it's fine to say "okay, cool," maybe learn something, and then move on with your life.

I confess that I will never understand those of you who profess that ignoring reality will somehow change it. And I refuse to give credit to anyone who will misquote historical figures just to be cute. “Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it” - Winston Churchill. Well ok sure I don't know what measure you go off as a 'fail' but I don't live there so I don't see what you see so I'll take your word for it.. But I have no guilt to soothe.. It's not black recognition month, it's black history month. It's supposed to be about remembering the unique trials and tribulations black folks went through over the last few hundred years. Is that what it's generally portrayed as? Not really. Does it need to be a whole month? Probably not. Same with pride month, worth remembering history but they're a bit out over their skis with a whole month. Corporate virtue signaling is not a good substitute for treating others like fellow human beings. Unfortunately, there are too many of us of all heritages that don't walk that line.

Can it not be both? And maybe for that one month their sport is acknowledging the struggles they went through on and off the track to get to where they did not ignoring it..
