Some people don't like to race any more because they spend 12 hours at the race track and only get to race 1 4-5 lap moto and then your next moto has a good chance of being cut down to 3 laps. It's a joke!

Another annoyance ... I have manufacturers contingency and I am lucky to get 5 pros, they all want to be a pro but no one is willing to race, they rather say they race "sx" and not make the show and sit in the riders seating area then race on a sunday...lame.

So who hired those thugs as hitmen?

I'm not convinced he is innocent yet, but I don't think there was enough evidence to prove him guilty.

Where do you get your info on demographics ? There are far more youth racing today then older, yeah maybe if you go to a "Vet" National but try going to Texas or LL or World Mini, 98% youth. Saddleback was open for practice yes, but bikes were like $1500 or less, so I think it's about the money not the age there.

Its not called that BECAUSE they are all minis, the B,C and schoolboy classes are the biggest and they are all big bikes. I totally agree too many tracks are "speedways", but years ago we didnt have all these 50, 65 and 85 riders like now. Its kinda hard to have a deeply rutted tracks and 4-6 yr olds gettin around. Come out here to Englishtown if you want ruts!!!

Because of you I have to ride tracks as smooth as billy ard tables.Complainin' whinin' parents have gotten promoters to plow and man(haha, man)icure tracks to be uninteresting flat roads.

The last race at muddy creek is a prime example.Fear of rain and bitching unskilled riders left the track packed with no braking/accel whoops at all.And those same whiny puss rider/parents think their kid/self is somehow going to make top 10 at lorettas,ha f'ing ha,not happening unless the other 32 riders quit/pileup/blowup/wreck golfcart.

It aint victory sports fault, they need riders to make money and they try to keep them happy.I'd rather lay my nuts on my FASST FLEXBARS pad and smash them with ENGINEICE jug than race on wide open track that no decisions of what line to take have to be made.Like riding that large POS monster mountain track in alabama for my regional in 03.Needed an 8 speed tranny or a 27 tooth front gear.

MX to me is ruff tracks with ruts and kickers on jump faces.I want to go home beat up and piss blood.I know the muddycreek people well, the tractor guy is one of my best friends and I'm going to pay him whatever it takes to make this regional one of the gnarliest son of bitches that has ever been.Like Itchyconney was in 02,I pissed blood for a week, now that is a fond memory.

If the track is flat and fast Teggers wont need a return ticket, just an urn cause we will all be dead. That is what I love about Lorettas, the track is jacked up and rutted,it cost a lot to get there but to see that blood in the bowl is all the payback I ask for.

I thought you got hurt and had to quit...hmmm. Smile

When I was 12 years old I learned to ride on a DT100 enduro it had a headlight on it until we broke it crashing. As kids we didnt know anybetter but we grew up riding in the woods and an old motocross track that was abandonded by the owner so it never got smoothed or anything. Whenever anyone would ask us where we wanted to ride , the woods or the MX track we always went for the moto track it was more fun. It was so rough you could barely ride on it, but we loved it.

Saddleback for one, was an open riding park, just like Escape country, and Indian dunes. You could park, and ride everywhere, you didn't have to ride on a track.

Racers didn't have the work ethic they need today to win. It was more of a Sunday only gig.

In the early days we would just pick a track and go race, no practice during the week, except TT tracks, I would practice Elsinore, and Perris, during the day, then race at night.

I'm a fan of Michael Goodwin myself...was of Mickey Thompson as well.
I think the whole "Conspiracy " is off.

I remember ditching school to go to Indian Dunes only to be told I cant ride the National track because they are filming CHiPs there. DOH! The river was a cool place to ride.

Wasn't it a cool place. I loved the GPs there, we would run across those rivers. Got my ass kicked by Jim Holley (among others) there. I used to love racing both courses.

Practice did kill it here in Socal.

I also think housing killed it as well. I remember practicing in the hills and open lots closer to home. I would drive no more than 20 minutes to my favorite place unload my bike and ride for free.

All the jumps killed it too on the local level. Lets get back to the basics: turns and whoops.

Promoters not moving riders up killed it as well. Cherrypickers.

I remember when wreckitrandy would say "grip it and rip it" and he was talking about moto instead of golf.

Golf has killed our sport by hogging all the open land in urban areas.

I don't see any problem with the roughness of tracks around here or anywhere on the east coast. If you practice to race then it doesn't matter how smooth or rough the track is, go out there and race, and when you don't do as well as you figured... go home and practice harder instead of bitching about your bike or the track. Regardless of how many times they till Muddy Creek, it will be rough for the regional because of the number and caliber of riders that will be there. If that's still not rough enough for you, race the nationals... after that you can go home to that beat up feeling and pissing blood stuff you seem to be so fond of.

I have raced nat's,in 1988-1990 till a bad one at lake sugar left me in the blue H for a week.I've done this for 35 yrs ok?

I like fast aqlso but with braking bumps and shit.

But,right now I'm dealing with 400 lbs log splitter that broke a chain and fell from the bucket of my tractor onto my foot about an hour ago.Looks like it crushed my big toe and the middle one. This is going to be ruff for a day or 3.I got to hit the last area Q next week so I'm looking at ways to stuff a toe the size of my nuts(baseball)into a boot.

Jesse,
The bike gear selector runs the same curve for nuetral and 2nd,hence the stutter I was tryin' to cure is normal(why?) but the loosin' drive 10 feet from the gate wasn't.It was what had changed. After all I went thru swapin' parts I just stepped back and rethoiught the deal.

The plugs mounted on the bike that all the things I swapped plugged into could be the cause.

Well, the WC rad guards laid against the TPS plug.No wear you could see until you pull it up off the stamped metal mount with very sharp edges. The rad guard had put enuff force on it to shave plastic off the inside on it till it was going to ground, just a little. It was not wore thru to the contact to the naked eye but with a ohm meter it was making a circut.

The 08 has more plugs and is crowed there.Took a lot of work to find that huh?

Now if I can got by the crushed toes I'll be good.

Thanks fer the help buddy.

A majority of the socal tracks are a ripoff.

For my 20-30 bucks (+annual memberships)I expect to see at least some prep and see water thrown down during the few hours I'm there.

Racing is a joke, $30+ entrance fee (on the LOW side) for two motos is a scam.

I have no problem paying more money to go ride, but give me something to pay for. A parking spot on a dirt lot and a few hours on a clapped out track aint' worth much.

40 classes ruined MX for me. 8 am til 6 pm + drive time - and get 40 minutes of track time + 4 laps of practice.

I am not motivated to ge racing anymore with those numbers.
