Swoon....that's my 84 Nissan. Best truck ever, wish I still had it
I melted the rod bearing in my 86 CR80 at Pismo with a paddle tire(bad). So, we let the air down on the tires on my 2wd Toyota and went out with the dune buggies at night (good)!
You have to feel as safe as a bike on the street, so use the same rider awareness. Stay lucky.
You guys see this yet? Their motto is “Built Like It Used To Be”

Supposed to be a small truck with minimal fluff. Manual transmission option, N/A 4 cyl, mechanical 4wd, real buttons on the dash, etc.
Hope they pull this off. Would be awesome to have a simple little truck on the market again.

To say Pismo was hard on equipment is an understatement! 😅Hard on the body too. Got some saltwater on the leathers (its a great thermal conductor). Burned the piss out of our legs on the pipe...
I refused to put the green stickers on my bikes so, I cut up old fenders into squares and zip tied them to my bars when at state parks (had a stack, so they weren't always the right bike). It literally took ten years to finally pay the tickets I was issued there.
Kayden Minear got me wanting a mini truck again 🤣

2008 VW Saveiro 1.8 Turbo build, great for moto 😂
This looks like exactly the truck we all say we want, time to prove it. My name is now on the Canada waitlist. Spread the word, far and wide!
I mean, how can you not like something like that, right?
(And yes I know it's an AI concept pic. It's a good concept)
Where did you find the pic? I just heard about them last week and hadn’t seen any renderings yet.
I am looking to get a little truck just more practical for me. Sweet little van though.
I’m on the list too. I want another Tacoma but I’m not spending that kind of money.
Hard to beat $1000 beaters. Especially when it’s a 5 speed Tacoma 😋
My 1st truck was a 1987 Nissan hard body. Started lowered(parents got it for me used) then raised then lowered then turned into a pre runner! Thing was a beast only issue I ever had was when I snapped an upper control arm jumping it! Almost 200k miles on it when I sold it and still on original clutch and transmission.
Found an article on the REO folks and the pic was in there...
It's gonna require a "TONKA" badge on the grill! 🤣
Pit Row
Don't ever let anyone tell you that mini desert race trucks aren't practical. I had been looking for a more economical daily driver as an alternate to the DEF Star ( 2500 Cummins), and found this Tacoma already built out with a semi-stealth long-travel set up. My primary justification was that I spend a lot of time traveling rough, hacked-out roads for trail work, but was supremely delighted to find the shock hoops in the bed work brilliantly for stashing moto gear & tools.
More suspension Pic's please!
REO Slow-wagon
Check them out.
REO trucks made in Texas. I put my $25 deposit down. I’m #36,271 on the interest list.
I put my deposit down… number 36,271 on the list
CALL IT A Speed Wagon! One Freaking Job! 😄 Runabout? F%#k That Shit. Speed Wagon. 100 Years Later!
The Texas company trademarked that one too, so I imagine if they get anywhere, something will be coming named Speedwagon. But the Runabout was REO's first vehicle. (But damn Speedwagons were a nice looking beast)
That would be BA
The Slate and REO need longer beds though. I don't think you can fit two bicycles back there let alone a couple of dirt bikes.
I don't like that "no brake" function on the Slate. Suppose you want to relax your foot and coast (i.e. descending a hill). The moment you take your foot off the pedal the things slows to a halt.
'03 Ranger with 370K on the odometer and still trucking. Long since removed from service as my "go to the track vehicle" and relegated to being my dad's work truck but still works in a pinch.
May 2020 was bought from a friend for $800 with 160K on it, it's since been crashed, went through 2 beds before we settled in a flat bed, hit a few deer, and lost cruise control awhile back but still gets the job done!
