Everybody used to bash Kenny and call him a complainer and quitter but now everyone forgets that and says a different narrative like this thread here because it fits what they are pushing.

I never understood that. You can see when a package or bike gels with a particular rider. Kenny never really got comfy on the Honda, also an easy example to show it isn’t just the bike but communication of the team and rider. Look at Kenny in 2015 and 2016. Same bike, different setup and vastly different styles from Kenny.

Yeah, Kenny would have been in recovery for several years on any brand. I think HEP Suzuki gave him the time to be “the” guy year over year and stability on a platform that wasn’t going to change. If he stayed at Honda he would have seen significant model change and have been second to Chase and then the Lawrences if Honda could even afford him after allocating most of the remaining their budget to Lawrences.

Yes, but I think he was notably better with the KYB inserts.  What if KTM said we can’t do that anymore???  It could have contributed to why we are where we are with Chase.

Webb is running similar inserts i believe,

I think he is, but that’s not an Austrian factory team.  Lots more flexibility there.

It was a few years ago now, I can’t remember if it was him.

Let’s be realistic here, it wasn’t suspension holding Reed back those last couple of years.

Who said it was?

Whilst Chase will dwell on it & blame everyone and everything except himself, getting in his own head and hindering his chances on the following weeks.

Chase could’ve ridden that Kawasaki to top four or five results all year and everyone would’ve considered it a valuable year learning the new bike. Instead he let it boil his brain, kill his confidence, destroy the relationship with the team and his year went to shit,

Those are his results on a kawi before it shut off and ended his season. He missed 3 rounds of SX and finished 6th in points.

He already did exactly what you're saying he should have done except he didn't just shut up and thank the sponsors afterwards. People confuse his refusal to accept a shit bike with not trying or holding up his end of the bargain and it's not at all fair to him.

First year KTM 450 supercross results 3 1 8 5 2 9 6 3 4 3 2 5 2 22 2 1

Both first year finishing averages were 5 point something, so really, nothing different on the Kawasaki. Year 2 on the KTM was a different story, producing much better results.

I generally agree, but I still think this Kawasaki season was uniquely mediocre. He still was on the box 9 times in 2024SX vs only 3 times in 2026SX. That's a pretty big jump.

True but that was 2 rounds into the SX championship, hard to judge much from just 2 rounds

I agree with this,  he has bounced back from past injuries just fine.  I mean he broke his femur in one of his first 250 sx races.

Also how many would be out roadbiking today in 49 degree weather in the middle of no where in Illinois.

You should try it. Ride through some misty hilly forests with a bit of snow falling. Magical. Makes you feel alive.

Damn I miss road biking.

49 isn't even that cold but he does seem like a bit of a softy when it comes to cycling, I remember some vlog where he was talking about taking his bike to the shop to fix a flat tire

When is Chase supposed to get back on the bike? I thought I remember hearing Mid-October. I would think we hear something on what happens sometime in the next few weeks here

it might just mean hes in the same boat as most of us but listen to the first minute Mcgrath says “Sexton, wherever he’s at (next year)”… As a Kawi brand ambassador his choice of words here… could be telling.. why would he say that? maybe he means mentally but like I said, there probably were some points where just like us, even Kawi nor Chase know exactly what they are doing for next year despite knowing what the other party may want. and those points could still be current as neither the public nor the media has heard anything solid and we’re passing mid October. only speculation, & who knows when this was filmed.. does it matter? just more speculation… I get it though, we’re basically at the point we’re starting to think he’s staying because we arent really hearing anything. but the little things we are and aren’t hearing are inconclusive and at times mysteriously mildly suggestive which just adds to the speculation… so

maybe not worth a post but if we’re going for 50 pages…. just some more little things to observe trying to read things between lines that may not even exist. It’d be funny if after all this he does just stay.

49 degrees?  I used to mix rum in my water bottles so they wouldn't freeze completely, but that was for below 32.

At 49 degrees the rum was just for fun.

Don’t care what bike Chase is on, I just hope he has a good year and gets his confidence back up. One of the few who matched Jett on speed.

and some people on here are frozen in time. Like his injury never happened and he never crashes and is a top contender any time he tosses a leg over any bike. SOME of us are simply saying it's wait and see mode instead of projecting instant top competitor with no confirming information since he busted up his leg. Realty bites.

Well, we do know he has a multi year contract with Kawasaki. I’m a little fuzzy on how there’s an extra 25 pages of this thread so far.
