I would agree, just not with the example of Tickle being champ because of his ”on track friends” collectively fcking up Tomacs east final race to help Tickle become champion… but thats another subject.

So no, SMX playoffs doesent mean much, except for Prado who further cleaned up his kawi past and showed he is a rider to look out for in 2027 and Kitchen who maybe got his first and last championship?!

Yeah that was just an example, regardless a regional 250 title means more than the SMX title in my opinion.

Without question. When Jo won last year I didn't for a sec think, Jo is finally a champ! I thought, hell yeah what a payday for Jo!

The worst title in US MX racing history. It’s a gimmick series that has a ridiculous points system made 100% to provide drama.

I've been pretty neutral on this whole thing but it's finally worn me down. If you combine Supercross and Motocross points Hunter outscored Jorge 820 to 590. 230 points better with 5 SX Main Event wins, 12 moto wins and 6 overalls in Pro Motocross to Jorge's 2 moto wins and 1 overall, but we're all supposed to participate in Jorge's delusion that he is World Champion from this? It's honestly a disservice to Hunter and Cole after they fought, scratched, and clawed their way to real championships and proved definitively that they were the best over the course of 28 races that someone else is calling themselves champion.

You don`t even need to race SX to win the smx title. Deegan was 416 points behind Hunter, beat Hunter and almost won the championship.

Now that WSX has folded it'll be interesting to see how long SMX stays around for? Was it truly just a coincidence that it came to fruition the same time WSX hit the scene? Or...

The big advantage I can see besides the money for the riders is if they have a bad supercross and motocross but are able to put together some results in SMX it could help them get resigned.

Playoffs don't make sense in a sport where the competitors have been playing against each other every weekend the whole season.

Just looking for personal opinions here.

Does an SMX title really count for breaking the Pro-Circuit dry spell?  Kitchen?  Ryder D, Prado?   Deegan’s 4 tiles vs 6?  ect…

For me…imho…With 3 races and gimmick points it doesn’t count any more than a Monster Million/U.S. Open….therefore not a legit break of a dry spell or for total titles.  If Feld can fix the format/venues/track then maybe I reconsider in the future….but probably not.

All jmho…so remain calm.

I hold it a notch above any world title that happens at Glen Helen.

If scarcity or rarity has any value, the few that have one are part of a group that won’t be getting any bigger, so there’s that.
