Marchbanks seems to love it and is performing.
Different situation. What options does marchbanks have? If he trashes the program how many are lining up to give him a factory ride and good salary? Does he have FU money like Chase or Prado already have at this point? Does he have elite speed with only one goal and expectation of winning? Or is 5th the same as 7th for him in all reality more or less.
Sexton and Prado it’s win or fail. 2nd-10th are all the same unless it’s winning they lost. Marchbanks isn’t at that level so he can “keep chipping away” getting top 10s and that’s all a win for him.
maybe he'd be better on a different bike? Marchbanks has been a top 10 guy since his first 450 season a couple years ago
Tondel finished worse going from Privateer Kaw to Factory Kaw
And Fineas also got worse going from Honda to Kaw.
Did I miss something? Last I saw Chase was still recovering from ACL surgery, was not cleared by Dr. to ride/practice and had 1-year left on his Kawi Contract?

2 years, he originally signed a 3 year deal.
China is a big country with potential to buy anything. We laughed at Chinese cars 15years ago... Then they dangled big dollars in front of Audi and Porsche any many more top designers and now Chinese cars (hard to admit) look sometimes among the best. Money talks, maybe Kove talks
Sexton going back to KTM would be the dumbest thing since Stewart going from L&M Yamaha to JGR Yamaha...
We know RJ is going to Ducati right. People seem to talk like they have no one. I don’t think that would be a good move, they are having issues getting that bike in the right window.
Wish he didn’t burn the KTM bridge, that could work out well taking Eli’s spot. They seem to have fixed the shock problems and damn he had some killer rides on that bike.
To James credit, JGR was supposed to go to Suzukis for 2012 and then ended up staying on Yamahas.
Everybody says Chase "burned his bridge" with KTM...but did he really? I mean, KTM acknowledged that they were having major issues with the rear suspension, and that was Sextons main concern. Heck, he won races on the KTM when he was under contract. I can easily see KTM courting him to fill Eli's vacancy, even with Coenen coming in for 2027. Eating a little crow might do both the rider and team some good.
Reedy's first hire on Factory Honda backed equipment for 2028
It was so bad that he wasn’t speaking with anyone on the team except for his mechanic. They also forced him to ride at Bakers because of the public meltdowns he and his dad were having over the bike in front of people at whatever facility he was at at the time (sandbox I think?) It was bad.
Also, maybe the bike just works for him.
Well...I never had that information. I can see how that might be a negative memory for KTM...and it doesn't seem like Sexton is moving to kick his Dad to the proverbial curb, is he?
I’m with you though, I still think it’s POSSIBLE he goes back. After Prado left and went back to KTM, you’d think Kawasaki would NEVER let the same thing happen ever again, let alone the following year. But with Chase almost for sure getting out of his contract, I just feel like all bets are off and almost anything is possible.
Try finding a team willing to sign that document. Pay a rider $10M to shit talk your motorbike after 3 months, and he stays cause you have to pay him. No way !
If Sexton goes to Ducati or ClubMX would he still get to do his own gear deal? Pretty sure both teams have team wide gear deals. Would Sexton want compensation for losing his Alpinestars deal?
PRMX…my guess
Pit Row
Apparently Troy Lee was willing to let Roczen keep Fox to come over.
"you’d think Kawasaki would NEVER let the same thing happen ever again..."
That's what has me scratching my head. You'd think that at the first hint of Chase wanting out of his contract, Kawi HQ would start marking heads at the management level, but there hasn't even been a rumor of change at the top.
His old man put him in the doghouse.
Interesting…
No idea what's going on and it sounds like no one else does either....
I just hope we get a fast happy healthy Chase back.
that's what I thought for a while but Reed would be running his mouth about it if there was a chance the team was happening any time soon
Yes, he would have to. He's probably getting 1m a year from them plus win bonuses. Neither team would/could want to cover that
Agree with that. But also maybe he just wanted to see a GP. I like to think racers who can't race at the moment still love motocross.
Wonder if he would make more racing SX even if he had to run his own program. Beats me. But it seems like a long shot and last option to go there - not sure he's in the same place Zacho was when he ran out of options here and went to the GPs (and remade his career - so much respect for Zach pulling that off).
How many people in this world have straight up beat Jett 2-3 times since he turned pro? Not many..
How many people currently racing have a 450 MX and SX championship? Not many..
Chase will be fine. We’re not talking about someone who has been a 10th-20th place guy throughout his career and is 30+ years old. I mean, honestly, what do you expect him to do? Just quit because there’s more competition now? I really don’t understand what point you're trying to make here. With all this new high level competition, it’s going to be harder for any one of these guys to win any given week. You can say it’s going to be harder for Jett to win with the current crop of riders.. it’s going to be harder for Hunter to win with the new crop of riders, etc etc etc.
Marchbanks is expected to run inside the top 10. If he ever gets one win, it’ll be massive.
Chase is expected to win championships.
We do not disagree. Jett is more likely to beat Chase than otherwise.
It is the same. Marchbanks is performing as expected. Chase won races and continued to change the bike until he was lost. Garett’s making it work and if you really look at it is exceeding expectations.
