Weege announces races for Feld and MXSports but for his other employer he reports on the races? Conflict of interest? But his employer who he writes about the races for also runs the outdoor series? Oh boy. And poor JT, to keep this dream job of his he has to spew out company bullshit that you can tell gags him as he says it, on pulp's review his defending the decisions behind Feld's screw ups made me feel embarassed for him, it was laughably preposterous.

Moto Nomad wrote:

Doesn't Weege work for NBC/Peacock, not Feld?

Ok works for NBC/Peacock and writes/reports on and about the races in a magazine, still a conflict of interest.

The managers/staff affected don't want statements on record; they don't want to rock the boat any further.

Feld isn't producing a statement on the matter, but pointed to the penalty report that will be released Wednesday. It was hinted that this might all get redacted by the time the penalty report actually hits. Whether that means they will actually address it or just pass it off like it didn't happen, we'll have to wait until Wednesday to see that part.

What a sophmoric shit show. Redacted indeed.

Here is an idea. Let's drive to Ohio, then what do you say we drive to LA, and then let's head head back to the Midwest and Missouri. With Diesel prices at an all time high.

Then let's hold a playoff in  the middle of a Saturday Afternoon so you can't catch it at a bar on Saturday night.

Whoever was in charge of scheduling should be shown the door.

No kidding. I ran across the KTM rig today on Missouri 36 near Brookfield heading west to this weeks LA race.

I need to add up the miles. Murrieta to Columbus, back to LA, right back to Branson, then the return trip to Murrieta.

7,505 miles

Edit: I'll preface that I used a bit of AI assistance (yes, boo me). Might be closer to 7,700 miles and fuel alone would be anywhere between $6-$8k for that rig.

That would make more sense with the fuel costs involved these days. I assumed they may have went back to the shop after Ironman.

I wanted to follow the truck longer to see if the driver would make a rest stop and I could bribe him to take a spin on Tomacs bike.

Does anyone know if KTM is running 1 semi for Tomac, Prado, Plessinger, and Beaumer or are there 2 trucks? Maybe Eli's bike wasn't on that rig. 😁

how does a major team not have basically stock engines on standby knowing its going to be a mudder? Seems like a team manager job to see that happen imo.

I was just thinking why not just roll out stock bikes and trash them in the mud. You could trash two stock bikes for less than a fully built motor, then sell them to random fans after and make it their problem.

That’s the hospitality rig and rider lounge one. No bikes in there.

I’m sure FELD would change their minds pretty quick if Star, triumph and Ducati didnt show.
Would absolutely love to see these teams take a stand

I know it’s the star 250 team, but if star threatened to pull Haiden Deegan and Cooper Webb out, surely feld would take note.

You don’t have to like him, but you can’t deny, Deegan puts asses in seats at these events, if fans showed up to watch their rider and they werent there over politics, it wouldn’t sit well with the fans.

Obviously it wouldn’t come to that, but if star threatened to pull the top dogs, surely that would get the feld guys to realise they aren’t holding all the cards

Stupidcross is different... while the riders gotta show up to basically get their nut for the yr, for the teams, it's a lot more expense, with much less marketing return...

At some point I'd expect the teams to tell feld "we aren't supporting smx anymore unless you pay us to do so"....

Hey, it’s SuperDuperCross, get it right!!!

They so badly want to enact the Monster Jam model:  Control all the teams.

I used to enjoy going to them. It was something my dad took the family to. But now it’s totally different. Extremely cringe and just rough to watch. Ultimate goal is using kids to drain parents dry of cash, no longer about racing.

The OEM's play the game to "sell bikes" correct? What consumer is purchasing a bike based on supercross results when no average joe rides supercross?

I’m not sure anybody buys a bike these days based on professional results.

However, me certainly, I base it on a ‘vibe’.

I’ve never much been a Honda fan, but tye Lawrence ‘vibe’ is really doing it for me. I’m liking Honda a lot right now.

I remember going to Bercy several years ago where Barcia & Peick put on a good show- I left there wanting to buy a Yz450.

Can we just call a spade a spade, and admit that SMX is a complete failure and waste of time?

Tracks and locations were not what was promised, and even people who care about Moto are not watching when there is College Football on a Saturday in the fall. There are better things to watch and do. Ill tune back in when its Anaheim 1.

Careful ML, you are treading seriously close to Banned Land. How tough is it to do your job when the shiny, sharp Ax is hanging over your head ?

I actually have the opposite opinion, this year especially. I agree there is great stuff to do in the fall but College Football is dead to me. I spent decades as a booster and passionate fan not missing a game but it's ruined with the Portal and NIL now. The corruption and lack of loyalty to schools makes the Feld thing look like nothing.

So this year I decided to retire from it and have been really excited about watching some SMX and MXdN racing and possibly WSX if they have it. Maybe even getting out and riding myself.

Keep your eye on the goal -> As long as the schedule is profitable for Feld…. Manufacturers and private teams be damned! 🫥

That makes it better, eh? No costs associated with keeping a rig out on the road—-even if static? I can’t believe that. Now, if Feld were footing the travel bill, I’m sure we would see a logical schedule rather than a focus on “what’s the cheapest venue we can secure next week?” But they aren’t, so it’s “Feld’s Folly” when planning the schedule. Other people’s money spends easier! Lol

He didn’t say “proper” beer. He’s talking about room temperature Michelob Ultra leftover from last weeks bbq that’s been been sitting in a warm cooler on the porch since last Sunday. That’s how Feld gets down.

I was served a Guiness in an iced mug last night. That bartender is very lucky that she was hot.

Man, I thought they would have touched on this subject since Lewis was asking for hard questions, and "Push Us" type queries.
