“New Cooksey” works for me.

He sounds desperate for attention, National Enquirer type click bait BS.

IMG 3643 8 I made a power rankings video for SMX and had Hunter 2nd and it was followed by a bunch of Australian dipshits flooding my comments. Australian fans are worse than Deegan fans.

Real classy, nice work man. Keep it up 👍

Thats literally not what he said. Why dont you watch the whole video. He said only jett knows what happened and anyone who says they know 100% what happened (including you saying its def not rigged) are talking out their ass. Watch the whole video before freaking out and making a whole new thread. He didnt say it would have an asterisk because it was rigged, he said fans are divided and because the majority of them believe it was rigged that means they will inevitably put an asterisk on it. Idk how u cant comprehend that thats not him assigning anything to it.

That’s a very simplistic view that doesn’t help anything or anyone. Do all Americans have the same opinion and attitude as each other? How about the French? Canadians?….it’s a dumb take and a shortcut to thinking.

Not much different than lumping all Deegan fans together and calling them bedbugs. I saw some pretty nasty comments directed towards the Deegans when their private jet had some type of issue. They certainly weren’t Deegan fans, and several of them had locations from the Southern Hemisphere.

I hear guys like Weege and Matthes talk quite a bit about bedbugs, but mentioned nothing of the vitriol towards Haiden Deegan on that issue. I guess people see what they want to see.

As per the opening post, Daniel Blair is just being honest about what he saw. He’s not Cooksey 2.0 or wearing a tinfoil hat. He noticed what a lot of people noticed, and I find it strange, or as you might say, taking a shortcut to thinking, that anyone who questions things these days is automatically put into the conspiracy theory category (unless it comes to Deegan; then all kinds of speculation is allowed) as if our eyes lied to us.

Matthes was quick to jump on it and brown nose the Lawrence’s from the start, and of course softballs it by calling everyone a conspiracy nutjob when most of us don’t think betting was involved or contractual matters; we just think Jett let his brother go by. Daniel is just being honest and looks to me like he’s struggling with what he saw.

In Cooksey’s latest video he’s reporting the FBI is looking into what the brothers did. He’s saying this is the biggest scandal in the sports history….

He’s actually saying that he called the FBI and sent them all of his ‘evidence’, and he’s mad because the ‘mainstream’ MX media reported on the Lucas Myrtl issue but they weren’t screaming about this unproven ‘fixing’ he’s made his latest crusade of the month.

Yeah, I wasn’t going to comment about it because I don’t really want to inflate his views, but the guy is just so bizarre that he’s sometimes just a train wreck that you just can’t not look at….

He’s also skirting the edge of anti-semitism in his latest screed.

My take is that as a media presenter and an insider to the sport, he has an obligation to ask and find out the truth, or apparent truth and to make it known.

In the days after the race, plenty of evidence in the form of video footage, comments from the team post-practice, post race 1 and additional treatment between races has come out that Jet is actually hurt. He's cancelled a big payday from SMX, citing the need for further ankle treatment after the Ironman race, where he hurt it again.

Sure, the race itself left room for interpretation, but afterwards, no.

Daniel AND Matt Burkeen, amongst others, have been actively milking the situation for financial reward, instead of being honest and saying that they believe, from all their contacts, that he was hurt and the race didn't play out as expected becasue of it. As I believe anyone with a conscience should.

Case closed, shutting down all this ridiculous speculation.

I lost a lot of respect for both Daniel and Matt after this. I generally avoid the other fringe "MX Media" like Hopper and Cooksey.

Bingo.

I backed Blair in the whole RC debacle, made it seem pretty convincing, but I'm done with him.

For someone who constantly posts on his Instagram about Jesus is the way, god's plan, cast no judgement etc etc, he's doing an awful lot of casting judgement here, all in the name of clicks. I'm not religious but I'd guess his deity wouldn't be pleased.

I'm not a gambling man but I'd bet a sum he wouldn't have the stones to go face to face with Hunter, Jett and Darren and spout the same bullshit to them

Say 5+ or so years ago he had some decent info AT TIMES. He has gone totally crazy and is insanely biased. All he does now is give the people with no clue stuff to yell about.

100%.

I also backed him with the RC business.

I avoid religion like the plague, but if he is posting like you say and then that recent Lawrence video, it makes a mockery of it.

Which is why I avoid it in the first place. Often the first to preach, yet the first to ... yadda yadda.

As soon as he starting using gen AI for all his logos and ads he lost all his credibility as an honest person — the hypocrisy of claiming honesty and endlessly claiming to be a christian while actively stealing artists work to make a shit slop version of a logo/intro/outro is pretty fuckin’ laughable.

Daniel, nor someone like myself, are claiming that he wasn’t injured. He was injured coming into the season. He rode the season injured and he probably aggravated his injury more.

The claim more or less falls along the lines that even though he was injured, he could’ve went much faster.  It’s that even though he was injured, he let up quite a bit to allow his brother to catch up and pass him.

So, the case may be closed for you, for many of us it is not.  We understand what we saw, and we have questions, especially given the second moto performance and the, what seemed like to many, a very uncomfortable interview afterwards.  Not to mention that during the first moto, Jett showed no obvious physical signs that anything was going on. That’s why people were confused.

If there is any confirmation bias, it is from those who don’t want to believe what is for many of us, something we don’t want to believe ourselves but can’t help but know what we saw.

Did you even read my post that you’re replying to?

So you saw several nasty comments by people from the southern hemisphere? Must all be bad!
Coincidentally I’ve seen lots of malicious comments by people from the northern hemisphere; arseholes!

It’s almost as if there’s dickheads wherever you go…..hmmm maybe there’s decent people everywhere too? What a radical notion.

P.S. Bedbugs is usually reserved for the extreme insufferable Deegan fans, not all. I have no doubt some are actually decent human beings, and I’d happily have a beer with them……despite being me from the southern hemisphere.

He's got an ego for sure, but I think he's pretty intelligent. Has some good insight and asks questions or has takes I think only Weege has the intellect to match.

I think hed be a better analyst than play by play guy and it sucks he got pigeon holed in that role.

Look where Peter T Rickard is from, and look who enjoyed his comment and left a laughing emoji.  Where’s he from?

I have a few more screenshots, but I don’t feel the need to endlessly prove myself here. It’s not just isolated to those areas; plenty of shitbag comments from North America as well as other countries, but it wasn’t unusual for me to look at the comments and also notice that they happen to be from the Southern Hemisphere.

"You know what you saw" is that akin to the same moronic "not selling cheap, I know what I have" delusion?

Let me ask you this: have you ever raced in a series you were in contention for, got hurt mid-race, yet persevered with riding just in case your competition failed to finish or had a worse ride than you?

Your answer to that most likely scenario aside, let me simplify it for you....you can readily admit he was hurt or injured but can't accept he might have been riding in pain and just doing the best he could on the day?

Ridiculous.
