Just wondering since Reed was clearly traveling in the opposite direction when he crossed the center point of that turn.

It says ask David Vuillemin if that logic works.

The same thing it says about re-entering the track at a safe spot. Ask Travis Preston.

So it's OK to deliberately ride the wrong way down a track to advance your position?

So now Reed was riding backwards on the track..................this is getting good................another 24 hours and they will be asking if it was legal for Reed to put his bike in neutral, dismount, make a pyramid out of the tuff blocks in the middle of the corner then remount and cruise to a 3rd place finish.

That pass/take out/stuff has been happening for 30+ years now. It only hurts or becomes an issue when your guy is on the recieving end. Welcome to the sport.

because he cut a severe angle off the turn, but all inside the tuff blocks thus not cutting the track, he is now riding backwards? Wow anything to put Chad in the wrong i guess. lol

Reed put himself in the wrong, but whatever. I'll bet Stewart beats Reed for the title anyway. And if Stewart rides the whole outdoor series, he'll win that too.

Actually.

the way i see it works.

in the crash photos and video. it's very VERY clear.

reed alread had made the "pass", he was IN FRONT OF JAMES, when JAMES HIT HIM? yes/no?

it's why they call it a BLOCK PASS right?

it isn't pretty but if anyone on this board who every ya like or don't like watched the stupidcross 1 hour program on CBS today, you will have noticed that this style of PASSING is nothing new at all.

Watching james say he wants to "ride safe' after landing on another rider again this year.....well ok.

James is what 25? Reed is 28-9? these are adults who choose what they do and how they do it.

sit back and enjoy the show.......

ya and stewart should beat Reed for the title. Isn't Chad Reed that old washed up hack that couldn't get a ride? How was he even able to hang with the all mighty fastest man on the planet?

yea that is a good example.

go high and wide in a corner, expect that if the door is left open someone will shut it for you.

it's what stupid cross has done for 30 years? it's about the only thing that makes it fun to watch?

are you serious right now? how would you suggest he make that pass? he did what he had to do. and its a turn, anythings fair game. AND since your such a genius on motocross, what do you have to say about stewart looking straight down at his front fender? if he wouldve been looking down the track, like youre supposed to, he wouldve saw reed coming and this wouldve never happened. its supercross, if you dont make an aggressive move for the lead, its not right. so before you try to question something a pro rider did, get some more common sense about motocross/supercross, sir.

This is why I don't post here much anymore. Too many fucking morons starting threads about the first thing out of their tiny brains.

lol how does one ride backward to gain a position?

now lets say if you crash and end up facing backward what do you do?

this incident has shown how many idiots there are on this board

and shown that i should spend less time associating with such

as it may rub off

The fastest man on the planet was getting his ass handed to him saturday night.
A couple of weeks ago I think Ralph or Jeff said that Stewart was the fastest man through the whoops, well watch every lap through the whoops of last nights race and clearly Reed is way faster through the whoops,I think he has always been.

So let me get this straight......

There are no rules in corners, anything goes, huh?

Man, sure wish they would have explained this to me back in 1977. May have won some more plastic.

This kind of monster truck mentality and a lack of rules enforcement always has and always will keep MX a second tier sport in the minds of the masses.

Flame on.........

LOL hell even NASCrap even has relaxed on the micro manageing with the rule book.

there was no intent when james landed on who ever. ( i don't believe it was nothing more then bad choices).

Reeds pass like so many other block passes of a simliar nature have been a part of mx/sx racing since it's birth.

If reed was going to "take james out" he wouldn't have bothered trying to turn or lean the bike, he would have simply rammed him over the berm.

this whole site is lit up with hero worship defending mutli-millionaires who finally put on a real race and a real show.

If you have been involved since 77 you may want to go back and watch some races because clearly you have missed what has been going on since the early 80's.
