Man I still feel like ever since Tomac chipped a tooth with that trophy it kicked off a lot of weirdness. Anyway thanks for the epic career and many great races ET3. One of the best to ever race a dirt bike.

I thought about that early today glad someone made a post.

That tooth contained all of his remaining power.

That was a good pulp episode. Something about the trophy succeeding in everything it tries since that day.

When I saw the announcement, I started thinking back to his last win (if he doesn’t get a SMX win)… It was Daytona, and toothgate. Imagine how much that chipped off piece would be worth! Lol

Remember in 2010 when Spain won the World Cup and during their parade they dropped the trophy in front of the bus and ran it over? My favorite sports blunder of all time.

Daytona, scene of the trophy incident, is the one race they don't run.

Good cover up for a crux placement

Rumor has it that the piece of his tooth that got chipped off was pocketed by Davey Coombs and fashioned into a guitar pick worthy of the gods. If Eli can ever find it and become complete by reattaching it, he will rise up and rule the Motocross world again.

Agreed.... I feel like these guys are like high strung race horses and something like that can spook them.... on his biggest day, biggest win, it was all destroyed by a cheap ass trophy... it would have been incredibly embarrassing to him,  it would have hurt physically, and it would have created an inconvenience at a really bad time for him... he was never the same after, thats really all I know...

Multiple Man United players are on $325k a week. The money in that sport is insane right now.

Toothgate 🤦🏻‍♂️

No bullshit he was a completely different rider after that night. Like day and night difference. Hoping we get to see Beastmode one last time at SMX. 🤞🏻

Biggest instant loss of vril since Samson. Sad deal.

Was this before or after the ktm shock sent him endoing in that rhythm section?

Just a good, Old School, moto family like the the rest of us. That's why they're not worried about profits, just the health of our sport.

And then a Benny Bloss battle putting him into retirement like he did Stew. Both funny circumstances.

It’s a shame he didn’t decide a bit earlier, hell of a career to just end awkwardly after the last round outdoors. A lot of fans would have wanted to give him the horns one last time.

Cool we get to see him to SMX. Hope he kills it like he did earlier this year.

Seems a little awkward in the moment but really all people will remember in a few years is that his last season he switched to KTM in his 30s, came out swinging and won several rounds before a weird trophy incident and then had a bad crash on the first lap of outdoors that eventually led to him calling it a career.

Winning several races your final season is going out a champ in my book.
