It’s hard to see a world where Cole and HD battle for supremacy at Star.  Who splits?

By 28 Deegan should have his bike dailed but I believe with a little time to adapt, Cole will have a more successful 450 career then Deegan.

Cole will ride the 450 like it should be ridden.

I can't wait to see what happens. It's "easy" to create beef with riders on other teams but it will be much more difficult to do with a guy that is on your team. Especially if he is really, really good which Davies is.

Deegan will be on his own team in 2028.

If he was winning, that would be easy.... but being a 3-6 place guy who is mostly hated, not so easy...

I think both of them are contracted at least through 2028.

Hated or not, the amount of buzz that kid gets at the races is insane. Longest line in the pits by far, I saw more 38 merch and hats than anything else at southwick. Sponsors like to sell, and that family is the perfect vessel for it.

He's way more loved than he is hated, stop it. And I say that as a neutral party. I was at Dilla and Budds. His popularity is off the charts. Even if he's not winning, he's a sponsor dream. They will line up if he has his own private team

Exactly. Vital is an “anti-Deegan” echo chamber.

I still say deegan starts his own team in the future. His dad did it with the metal mulisha  ,own the company that pays you to ride.

Winless by the end of next season - Deegan packs it in and goes NASCAR racing, works on being an internet sensation, or hopefully: fades into obscurity.

"Mostly hated" is an internet thing. Go to thw races and be honest with what you see.

Cole will be a bigger threat. Technique matters.

For now…what happens in two years or so if he’s still not winning on a regular basis? Will he still be able to draw them in?

I view Cole as having more potential but I think Deegan is much more popular online, and I imagine his fame is a big factor in his sponsorships

He's going to win races and battle for podiums and chew up TV time for years to come. Competition being such a high level is going to produce a lot of different winners and champs. It's already doing it now.

We haven't had a rider win both titles in the same year in the premier class since Eli did it 4 years ago. Since then we've had 5 different guys win premier class titles. When did that happen before?

We're in for battles on battles between all these boys and it's great to see happen.

These people saying he’s a disaster and hated are just not seeing anything at all. This kid is a sponsors dream and they are cashing in for every minute. What these people do not realize is, he doesn’t need to win but is already winning in so many other ways that benefit all. Not sure why they are all upset. He brings excitement to the racing.

Exactly. Vital is an “anti-Deegan” echo chamber.

That's because Vital is populated with race fans, who want to see riders battling each other on the track, not denigrating other riders off the track, and pulling dick moves like he did with Shimodo at SMX.

Maybe that team will finally be able to afford to send him to Des Nations

Let's keep a little perspective here, though; the biggest reason we haven't had a repeat champ in the past 4 years is because Jett has gotten hurt. I know, you have to be in it to win it, but remove the injuries, and at the very least, Jett's a back-to-back outdoor champ.

Cole will ride the 450 like it should be ridden.

What the hell are you smoking?  No bike setup  on earth is gonna close the gap for him. He might grab the odd moto win or SX if the stars align. But the days of him being a title contender are done.

Makes sense, That's the metal mulisha way.... Talk it up, promote your self, and than Sell out for $$$ when competition gets stiff.

Looking at Iron Man, Deegans fastest lap time in Moto 2 was over a second faster than both Lawrence’s fastest lap time… Even with the falls after the holeshots the last couple races, he’s dialing in the starts. The writing is on the wall… It will not be long before Deegan is winning SX and MotoX. That’s what Monster Energy Star Racing bet on with the multi year contract.

By 2028 Deegan will be far beyond Cole Davies ability on the 450.

Cole is a great 250 rider but he’s going to have a major adjustment period moving to the 450. Jett, Hunter, HD, Prado, Coenan… The expectations are going to be sky high for Cole and when he starts getting 7th through 10th place on the 450 I think those would be outstanding results for him as a rookie.

And why is that?? Because we aren't casuals here.... we know about lorettas, the cheating, and all the other douche baggery....

Casuals dont.... the average bed bug is 14 yrs old and don't know chit about this sport, or what a pos cringe lord is...

Interesting thread as if Haiden and Cole didn't already race each other.

Lots can be said either way depending on how much you hate or like Deegan.

While people might not think it possible, there is a world were these two are perfect teammates and competitors.

I would point to Hunter having Jett as a brother and practicing with him as a major factor in his rookie 450 season to what we just saw. I think it would be smart for Star to treat Haiden and Cole in the same way.

Also, There is a lot of respect between Cole and Deegan. They raced each other hard and while Haiden got the better of him more often, Cole WAS the only challenge Haiden really faced in his last year of 250's. They traded paint, left it on the track and that was the end of it. Shook hands afterwards.

I think a major negative on the star 450 program right now is there is no one to push Haiden. He is on an island and it takes race weekend to see where he is at.

To me Cole’s riding style just screams great 450 rider where deegans screams great 250 rider. I don’t think it would be a hot take to say Cole will have a better 450 career when all is said and done.
