I think I missed the memo about Kitchen, why did he miss moto 2?
Exactly. Kinda important with his selection to ride MXoN
I find it very strange that he skipped Moto 2. He can't have been hurt. If anything, he may have had a mental breakdown. Heck, the dude has had nothing but bad luck. His first Moto was about as rough as you can get.
He may have just said, eff it and we come back at SMX.
I like Levi and I'd like to see a Press release from PC.
Expecting news.....
Insanity springs to mind.
My take, the bike quit at the top of the hill, he tried to get it to start with the button, and nothing happened so he tried to bump it down the hill, and gravity / mud got the better of him.
It clearly would not start, and he DNF'ed . Yet when he was shown in the pits, the bike ran and he rode off.
I dont think for a minute that he was hurt , but what are the chances of 2 championship leaders both crashing out on steep hills and having to run back to get the bike.
We will never ever know the truth.

The no news about Kitchen's second moto is a blatant display of moto media's lack of worth.
After he got the bike up on that hill it would not start then he was messing with something on the side of the bike while the mechanic advised. Then it started. I'd be very interested to know what was going on. Perhaps the bike was cutting out all along. That could also explain the crash in the rut in the trees. The whole thing is very odd. You'd think that if at all possible he'd get back out there in moto 1 to at least try and keep it alive for moto 2.
Levi didn’t know where the second start button was located. Mechanic had to point it out.
that was actually a long fall, when he went down at the top of the hill, he must have hurt something.

I thought it might be the second start button, but you'd think that he would know where it is! And if that's the only problem why not finish out the moto?
I think Levi must have punched a wall or something in the pits? Can't figure it out, he looked fine last time they showed him? The mechanics were barely working on his bike it looked like, as if there was no need.. All seemed odd..
I think your assumption is correct. Really sucks for Levi and mentally I hope he is okay after this.
You mention 2 championship leaders both crashing out on steep hills. When Hunter crashed he did indeed lose his championship lead there at Unadilla. Levi’s was different. He started the day 14 points behind so he needed a little miracle on his side. Once he got that terrible start (he was 35th on lap one) and Davies was in the top 3, the championship was essentially over. Any kind of mistake after that just seals it. It was impressive that he passed half the field in 4 laps and worked up to 17th before he DNF, but he wasn’t catching the leaders to win the race. Davies also doesn’t fade back to 13th in Moto2 unless he had it wrapped up.
Since the track reporters are so good at reading clip boards while the racing is going on. You think she would have had the scoop.
That looks like a very low impact crash. I would be very surprised to learn that he had any type of injury from this, let alone one that would keep him out of the 2nd moto.
My initial thought was another "left the choke on" issue. But Kawasaki benching TWO riders before the last motos says there is a juicy story in there somewhere.
Dropped 89 points in the last 4 races, I wouldnt be saying much either
Are you dragging Tondel into this too?!? Please don’t. There are already too many dumb ass conspiracy theories going around at the moment.
68 dumb ass!
They must have caught the same thing Honda had at Budds Creek where they swapped all their motors?
Isn't there a new VP fuel being tested?
probably not related though because VP has a solid track record of quality excellence
Pit Row
You never really know, the low speed stuff can be just as bad IE people hurting themselves on pitbikes all of the time
It’s truly unbelievable how badly things unraveled….. to go from title battle to juju beating him for second in points is wild
Deegans broken collarbone last year was about as low impact as it gets for example.
Guys tear knees all the time just by dabbing a foot wrong.
I didn’t mention anything about speed. It was low impact. I guess stranger things have happened but I don’t see an injury anywhere there.
As someone with way more crash experience than I'd like, that really didn't look like an injury-causing crash, and the way he was walking around and picking the bike up he didn't look injured. I don't what happened at the top of the hill though. Anything is possible but I don't think that an injury kept him off the bike yesterday.
I didn't mean to go all conspiracy here, it could be as simple as bad catering...
Man, I like Levi and always hoped he'd be a future 450 star, but his technique and speed are really dragged down by his lack of mental fortitude. I hope he can figure it out one of these days.
Poor guy tried to bump start his bike on that downhill and got denied!! lol Didn't get his foot high enough to get over the rear fender, FML haha
Half of his problems are his starts, maybe more. Go back and look where his choice of gate pick is, mind boggling!! He picked one over on the outside of the dog house and then a star bike gets in there and runs him wide, like duh!! He's made poor gate pick choices so many times its rediculous! Then no roll offs at 1st moto budds!!?? WTF are doing here
How the hell does the broadcast not fill us in on it
