I’m surprised by all of these comments. Guys, Jett didn’t have an 80 point gap, it was the other way around. Hunter almost won the SX title this year, and has earned his MX title this year. Period.

For some reason, he is in the same sack as Sexton: if he wins, it is because someone else let him. Well, no, you have to be in it to win it, and Hunter has been there every single race.

Hard to think of two more deserving champions than we had this year with Kenny in SX and Hunter outdoors, what a season and story for both those guys.  

The weirdness of today will fade away but the record book will remain the same. Stoked for Hunter, especially after the SX championship heartbreak just a few months ago!

Great thread-lets keep it classy. Congrats to Hunter, especially to overcome all of the heartbreak he has endured with these close 2nd place finishes. The guy is a DAWG. And full of humility-the peoples champ! He was the best guy over the course of the season.

Dude killed it, and even overcame the achilles arrow from Deegan.  Awesome job to Hunter and cool to see his progress.  Great year of racing thus far with SX and MX titles.  Hopefully SMX delivers as well.

Hunter did earn it and I think he was the better rider …too bad the team brother antics today will be the bigger story..and will leave a mark on both their legacy’s..

Not like Hunter hasn’t been the better rider all season. Hunter had this title wrapped up and a few lucky points swung Jetts way. Hunter deserved and earned this title.

Over extending a stiff ligament you’ve been nursing to try and gain more range of motion is one of them pains that make you want to scream when the throbbing kicks in and adrenaline wears off. (Dealt with the same injury) Tough go. Got me worried about SX and Whoop sections though.

Hunter has taken the last three titles ( counting the SMX sideshow) down to the last race, awesome to see him get this one done. Congrats champ!

What an awesome season/year for Hunter, overshadowed by the Deegan/Jett hype to start with and even today the absolute madness being speculated.

I was obviously rooting more for Kenny in SX but I'll never get this image out of my head how Hunter was standing there watching the whole championship celebration and then also congratulating Kenny after. He's a class act and deserves and earned this title. And I doubt this will be his last 450 title.
