We're not going unless we're sure we can win...

I'm just glad the losers using this rationale weren't at Lexington and Concord in, say, 1775. We weren't supposed to win that contest either. The current group of cowards would've donned red coats and carried 'we're for Cornwallis' signs.

Cowards and Losers through and through.

Who said we're not going unless we're sure we can win? I think you just made that up, not sure why.

People literally died traveling from U.S. to Europe, the trip was nearly a given that passengers would die or suffer chronic injuries during the time frame

I honestly can't even blame certain riders if they wouldn't want to go anymore. Let's be real, the amount of shit some riders got on social media (and even their families, even death threats from some disgusting "fans") or even here from quite a few people for not finishing as expected.

Despite riding through a hand injury in Assen, remember the amount of hate Jcoop got? A lot of comments that he should never be on the team again, even on his instagram until he got USA the win with his 250 performance in 2022. After that he was the hero all of the sudden.

Or Craig and AP at 2023 Ernee. Those guys stepped up when nobody else wanted to and they still got shit on.

Or RJ last year who rode his heart out and everyone instantly turned on him and blaming him when he crashed, saying only he was the reason USA didn't win and stuff like that.

Most of the time specially a lot of the US fans blame riders whenever they have bad rides and not the finishes that were expected and show zero support after that but also expect them to ride for free/pay out of their own pocket and step up for their country at the same time. Kinda ironic, isn't it?

And Riders stopped wanting to go when they gave it 100% and their country talked shit and blame them for the reason why they didn't win. And by not going they won't have to worry about coming under fire from their country's keyboard warriors

I think you are blowing it out of proportion. Sure there are some horrible fans that do like to criticize American riders efforts but I would say for the most part American motocross fans do support the riders that go even when they don't win.

Or we can go with the other narrative that Europeans seem to want to promote:

Americans are all horrible people that contribute nothing to the world. They care only about money and will let people die in the streets rather than give them health care,. Awful, awful people Americans are. Maybe that one works better for you.

The same people that are complaining are the ones that criticize the riders when they don’t win. I wish Star Yamaha would give us an idea of how much it cost to send a rider and team to the MXoN. I would bet we would be looking at about $250K for the first rider and probably another $50K for the other rider for the two weeks.

Sure there are plenty of people showing support, not denying that. But also every race thread is full of comments like this every year whenver USA doesn't win. These are just a few examples of many more btw. And go back to the 2023 Ernee thread, that's even worse. And I'd say that most of the people on Vital are actually very nice and cool, that's why they get disliked obviously. Now imagine how much worse it is on riders social media and in their DMs. I never never seen fans bash athletes more than american fans do. Downvote me if you don't agree with that, I don't care lol

What bums me out is Lewis saying that there is no hope for next year because the race will be held at a sand track.

The sand rider in me gets a bit down thinking about that.

We sent a team to Assen in 2019 and we'll send one again next year. It may not include Sexton, Deegan or Cooper, but we'll be there.

Maybe the AMA will actually work something out with FIM, Infront and the teams for next year, but I doubt it.

RJ had a story about some no name rider . Racing Way ovr his head out of control & blasted him . Try to make a name for himself .  Our sx riders R targets in this race big time .   Hv a Lithuanian that can’t get a 3rd in a fair race in Iowa , end your career to make entitled fans happy. But there never happy unless we win.  To represent our 3rd world country where truckers get shot up in our ghetto cities . So bad that Marines that did 5+ tours of Iraq refuse to enter. Millions of homeless, 90% of truckers r illegals 5 in a truck get out in daylight & crap on the ground .  Russia was banned from

The Olympics surprised were not banned from competing .

Id imagine that by "No hope for next year" meant there would be no hope of getting Deegan there, not no hope of a US team of some sort.

Not sure why professional athletes get surprised when some spectators give them shit for perceived underperformance. Like, you know that’s part of the game, right? If you can’t stand the heat, you know what you have to do…

Are fans fickle? Does a bear shit in the woods? Does any of this matter?? It’s frickin dirt bike racing, why get butthurt over it? “Man, I put my heart and soul into that ride, and they don’t even appreciate it! I’m going to go back into my sponsor-provided motorhome and take a shower before I catch the next jet home. F those ingrates!”

This is spot on.  A lot of professional athletes, and a lot of fans, need to step back everyone now and then to take a reality check on the relative importance of what they do.  They are getting paid to participate in a recreational activity.  There's no humanitarian awards for being a great dirtbike racer.

Work hard, do your best, and enjoy the relative privilege of being a paid sportsperson.

Bobby Regan pretty much said that in 2023 or 2024.  Deegan was healthy, and he said not doing MXoN wasn’t about the money.

Who? When? You came up with this melodramatic thread and hit submit there must be something that triggered it. I haven't seen that attitude from anyone but admittedly I don't consume all of the podcasts.

"They care only about money"

There's some truth in that, the AMA is controlled by the "industry", other country's national federations are controlled by motorcycling clubs, one works for the benefit of the industry, the other works for benefit of the riders.
