every year is the same old story......the money !!!!!

so my question is why AMA does not support the team ??

just a few week ago we could see an interview with Romain Febvre where he was explaining how well the french federation prepares for the race and how much they put on it to help the french racer to have the best chance to win.....all other national federations also do their best to send their best racers to represent their country......

so why in america there is a money problem to support the american pro team to race the world ??? AMA is the biggest moto federation, rulling the the biggest moto nation, with the biggest moto market, still they keep hiding behind the money excuse to not put up the best fight against much smaller teams....

some time ago, USA was the dream team, they won it all, they had everything they wanted, everybody would go, even family, never was the money a problem ....... only after 2011 the money started to be talked about and then used as the excuse not to go......

american honda races the same races as star, the same schedual, they also race to win......and never the money was the problem with them, the Lawrence bros dont go this year because they want to rest out the off season, not because of the money !!!!!!

team usa should just go out and show their best fight and pride like they used to do, insted of just running their mouth and hinding behind excuses like they do now........

That would make a great investigative reporting project for the moto media. Why can’t USA perform like the French federation? Should be easy for Pulp to look into this since one of their good friends heads up the fund raising for US. Seems like the template is there, the US just needs to execute it…

The NFL...MLB...soccer...NBA players...skiing, pick a pro sport...all get paid to go and play wherever they go 100% of the time. But, MX racers are supposed to just happily donate their time without pay, foot the transport costs and risk career ending injury for what?? lol. I'd tell MXON to pound sand too.

And so Infront and the FIM can make a metric shit ton of cash off of them. Maybe they can be the altruistic ones and stream it for free and donate the event profits. Oh, that's not going to happen? Fuck 'em.

Let’s see they all have unions and the sport isn’t run by a couple of families…

Do those sports have a similar event?

The best comparison IMO is golf with their every two year USA v Europe match, whatever it's called. Those guys don't get paid for it either, though there has been some complaints in the last few years about that so maybe that changes.

You're thinking of the Ryder cup and in 2023 one of the US players refused to wear the Team USA hat because of a lack of compensation. Now they get paid by the PGA.

The US Ryder Cup players do get paid...$500K with $300k of that going to the players charity of choice and $200k stipend...

Right. But that only came about recently because the players were grumbling.

Yeah so, on the strongest horizontal drill rig 4.7 billion for 5 world record projects in 94. The co wanted us home & back to work fast as possible.  They own a few or lease them.  Nice wide seats but you can’t stand up if you’re tall. Aron Rogers bought his own 10 yrs ago . He didn’t like the red stripe & had the seats changed . Most nfl players lease the planes as a group.

Exactly...They have been paid the $200k since 1999...the $300k came in 2025

I have a funny feeling the Deegans are pushing for racers and teams to get paid for this BS race. You want the big names at the MXON?? Pay us or FO. Without the big names racing, you basically have a county fair race.

The countries, teams, and riders should not need to come up with the money, there is plenty made off of the event to cover those costs. Instead of blaming countries and riders maybe should figure out where all the profit from the event is going? Guess where? MXGP and Luongo. That's where your anger should be directed.

So the best we can do is...

MX1 - Tomac

MX2 - Kitchen

MX3 - Cooper Webb (with 6 to 7 weeks to dial in his new Husky)

🙄

I'm getting downvoted into oblivion on this but does Team Tedder even have their Huskys yet? Are the lights on at their shop this time of year? Not to mention Webb is under contract with Star until October 1. I have a feeling any time he gets to spend on the Husky will be getting ready for WSX not dialing in an outdoor setup for MXdN. Rick Ware might take issue with that. It's cool that he wants to go, but I don't see how it can happen.

I agree but it's still a failure of the US fund raising team....I do feel Infront should pay the riders and hopefully changes are made but I can't see Infront sharing the profits of their cash cow. And now that Kawi isn't going to let Marchbanks go....the failure of Team USA is even greater..

Will probably see one of those “mutually part ways “ press releases between star and Coop right after nationals, so that he can start getting ready. This is of course assuming he’s put on the MXON team, which seems rather likely at this point.

You think he'll forego SMX to prepare for the MXdN?

Star is already getting flak for their decision to pull their riders from the MXDN. If they put the brakes on a guy who wants to go and is leaving their team anyway just after the MXDN, their PR will be in the gutter. Letting Coop go asap so he can get on the Husky (if it's ready) would be the least they can do right now considering the mess they've created.

Not really. They award a supercross champion and a motocross champion with separate titles. They also award an SMX title. Riders during contract time can negotiate what races they will compete in. Especially Jett and Hunter who are such a big draw, they can almost write their own contract. You don't seem to be fully up to speed on how sports contracts work.

It does seed them in, that's about it. My point is that at contract time the Lawrences could have opted out of SMX and rode MXDN instead. No one cares about a made up SMX title. The SMX title is joked about quite often on this very forum. The only 3 titles anyone cares about is MXGP champ, Supercross champ, and AMA motocross champ. SMX is all about the money. Unfortunately MXDN is also all about the money for Luongo and MXGP. I don't blame any of the riders for skipping MXDN.

Ask Jo Shimoda if he cares about his SMX title…

He can talk about America all he wants, and he can wave the American flag all he wants. There is nothing hypocritical about that at all, and it isn't your place to tell him what he can and can't do.  @mooch was already proved wrong on that point, and this may come as a surprise to many here, but racing a single one-off race a year does not in any way prove or disprove one's patriotism or love for their country.  If you and mooch and all the other Deegan haters are so patriotic, then you should respect Haiden's freedom to wave the American flag and his free speech to say what he likes.
But you don't.  You want him to shut up and not wave that flag.  So let's be real; Deegan is getting shit on for not going, but he'd get shit on for going as well.  Plenty here have already said beforehand he doesn't deserve to go.  If he did go and didn't win, half of you would shit on him for not winning and laugh at him for getting beat, so despite what you say, every week when Haiden is trying to beat those Hunter brothers, he is trying to put an American on the top spot.

Dude you are such a blowhard to say I was proven wrong about whatever nonsense you're rattling on about now. No clue WTF your talking about.

Only reason for you to go off the deep end is that I must of hit a REALLY soft spot for you to have flagged my username in this thread?

It's easy to see that you're really stressing it here lately now that so many folks are calling out your boy-hero as being a puss and his shifty employer covering for him?  So stressed, that now you're just blabbering in freakin circles about your boy-hero's weird flag waiving behavior.

Another angle since this apparently has nothing to do with Star Racing Yamaha and is all about Deegan.  Do you really think with the fastest two riders on the planet OUT of this race, that Deegan doesn't actually want to race it?  He has a fair chance at a victory which he hasn't had all summer..   If there was ever a good time to show up thinking you have a very good chance to win, this is it, and on a world stage.

I know it is hard to look past hate, but if he is not going, there just might be more to it other than what you read here from people who really are doing nothing but speculating and assuming.

Do the players get paid more for playing post season playoff games? I honestly don't know, I thought they mostly have fixed contracts.

Yes the leagues have playoff pay, they are also paid a bonus by the teams for making the playoffs and more for a championship

LoL...lmazing how you don't see that this lame analogy of yours is total nonsense.  If you can't see that, not gonna waste my time explaining it to you (again).

Maybe if you repeat this same idiotic line over and over it'll become even more true in YOUR head.

Find a different Hero to spend all your effort on...this one is just bringing embarrassment to you.
