There was reference in Hayden's interview after Budds that Brent Duffe is moving on. Where is he going? Sounded like he is moving to a role more suitable to having a family therefore not spending every weekend on planes and at races.
Congrats to Duffe. I am sure he has plenty of stories to tell.
I think going to f1. Probably making a lot more money
The rumors ive seen in various places online say Cadillac F1 team. If true thats pretty badass, congrats to him!
Diving off the Deegandashian circus
You literally have an unhealthy obsession....Going to an F1 team is a huge deal for someone like Duffe but you can't get past your hate for an individual that has nothing to do with Duffe's opportunity....you're getting just as bad as Julio and Wolfgirl.

You might be surprised, F1 mechanics don't make a ton of money and the travel is BRUTAL
LOL
Because you don’t like me pointing out the obvious
F1! That’s awesome for him. I hope it’s true. F1 is obviously the pinnacle of all motorsports. To be hired on in any capacity is a huge accomplishment.
That is going to make less time for family I would think. Unless his family doesn’t live close to the farm.
Unless it’s at the home shop but if he’s going to races no way.
Motocross mechanics don't make a ton of money either, so I'm not sure the bar is all that high.
Yeah it's insane. People do it for the love of the game, and experience of course.
It will be interesting to see his role. It's very, very difficult to get into that industry even if you're a stellar engineer. So to go from a grips and graphics moto mechanic to F1 is really surprising. I doubt he has a degree?
I'm sure that's mostly right, but over the years riders who want a certain guy kick in money on top of what the team will offer.
Either way, F1 is an opportunity to learn and see things you just cant in moto. Good for him.
Only if he's on the squad that travels to all the races. F1 teams employ a huge number of people. He could be someone that only works at the factory and doesn't have to travel.
Could be but he’s likely going to be a general mechanic so he’ll probably start on the travel squad
I thought he was going to Nascar? As a fluffer...
Cadillac F1 team in NC. Congratulations Duff!
Whats a fluffer?
What's the obvious? You coming into a thread that has zero to with Deegan and spouting your bullshit...how about you stay in the Deegan Hate thread unless you have something intelligent to add to this thread about Duffe going to F1....
Well it does take one to know one...
Pit Row
Deegandashian’s mechanic for his entire pro career quits his 450 rookie year and it has “Nothing” to do with Deegan?
Please stop
So you're saying that a Team Cadillac F1 position isn't a step up from an MX mechanic? Yeah it has nothing to do with Deegan...it has 100% to do with Duffe who has a great opportunity to go onto something that is a major step up from MX...Good for him.
Maybe, maybe not. All you know is the press release.
Either way it’s interesting.
The fact you dive all over it proves to me you know I might be right…
I thought they had a location in Indiana and the UK.
You can’t tell me that the deegs and Yamaha can’t cut duff a two year, mill contract. There’s more to the story, or industry and it’s sad.
And it turns into a deegan bashing thread, well done.
Who cares?
Where is a link to prove Fluffer is going to F1? WTF is that turd going to do in F1? He's a glorified umbrella holder and professional deepthroater for the Deegans. He's not a highly trained race car engineer. If he's going to any F1 team it will be purely to open and close the toilet door for the cleaners of the race cars...
Yeah, and when you get there you find out that it isnt, its just the pinnacle of being able to piss other peoples money up the wall, without ever having to win.
Its where my favourite phrase of 'there are people that would rather lose, than win with something that wasnt their idea ' comes from.
I spent the best part of 15 years in F1,WRC and Indy/Nascar , and while there are some great people in there, no doubt, there are also masses of people who just destroy others to make themselves look better.
Duffe will find out that car people, are very very strange, what few people have tried, have tries and failed at the top levels, just by their lack of understanding of how different 2 and 4 wheel teams operate.
I have colleagues who now work at Cadillac, just like MX, the whole thing is a big revolving door of personnel, but if you are going to F1 for less hours and more time with your family, i think you made a mistake.
Even as non travelling factory staff, the hours are long ( and lots of them are free, there is no overtime in Motorsports) , and it gets old quick, the money used to be really good when the teams were smaller, they had less people but paid them well to keep them, but now the salary cap means the money isnt as good, but there are way more people.
I live within an hour and a half of most of the teams, here in the UK, and i have no desire to go back, even though i get offers most years, it just isnt all its cracked up to be, unless you want to be at it 24/7 .
And Cadillac are all up in the air right now , i heard they were for sale already.
Their headquarters is located in Fishers. IN. Just drove by it the other day.
Such the expert.....If anyone would know what a fluffer does it would be you....
Good wishes to Duffe!
