I doubt that there's too many stones on that track. I read somewhere that he's very rear brake dependent riding sand, to control the pitch of the bike, so maybe over-usage/heat caused the problem.
Herlings has now lead precisly 3000 laps in his pro career, only rider with Cairoli (3352) to pass the 3000 mark over the last 20 years.
Very deliberate actions like he knew the problem and the fix. Almost like he’s done this before, maybe practice?

I’d assume Mikula not starting Race 2, his team are almost packed up
I daresay - but I don't mean so in a '" it's a HRC Bike Problem" way. As I expect some to grab onto.
Just a : 'you ride your bike a lot, the brake locks, you get off, see that (perhaps - I'm assuming) the actual lever is lower than you know it should be, and you try to get it to move / unbind' .
Over many years, and a fair few bikes, I've had such 'things' happen to me. As most here would have - Weird Sh*t happens, at times. Though, I haven't used a rear brake pedal on my CRE or my other bikes for a couple of decades now, using LHRBs / Thumb Brakes (those, Thumbies, Only on my Tar Babies) as I do. But, I still deal with foot levers on others' bikes. Horrible bloody things, they are 😁
Ouch!
I can see why you'd be a bit 'detuned' after that!
At least Febvre didn't get his hand etc go into the drive train. Quite the whack to the Noggin though.
HERLINGS IN TROUBLE! His bike stopped briefly in the last corners! #MXGPNetherlands
Any word what happend? Finished 12th, while losing minute in last 4 laps... was hoping for technical issue like smashed gearlever or something...
Sacha's going ' Berko ' - I hope it doesn't end in tears for him.
They just showed his Pit Crews reactions to 2 of his 'moments' - Priceless!
Yoinks, Sacha right on Everts now!
How is Coenen not losing time when that happens ? lol
...we have a proper race here boys..
Malin -" He's a little bit bigger.
Really, Paul, That 'Saffer' is a Giant compared to Sacha. Might have been Farres, but he's still far bigger than 'Small'.
They must have some motor to that Triumph, for him / them to get near a Works KTM.
Aye Caramba! - Farres gets by the Lil Fella, them, has quite a Moment. Eeeeek!
Man some good racing at this track in all moto's so far, 250's are wild!
What A Race!
Maybe the best race of the year so far. Those dudes where flying.
How notched out are the clutch baskets at the end of moto 2 you reckon?

Skovbjerg is genuinely such a good guy and can’t name anyone working harder than him. I sincere hope he get’s the support he deserves next year in MX2. Garcia is doing Garcia things and if he continues this path next year in MX2 he will get it his way.
Chase in the booth!
Once again - The Big Supercross comment about how he perceives how Herlings rides the Sand.
The two 'Orange' Riders out the front.
Very cool to hear Chase in the booth!
Herlings losing time?
De Wolf is hauling, fucking hell
Kay is looose right now, amazing to watch
Looks like Herlings bike has gone into limp mode.
Superb racing!! Best pit board.. haha
I have this theory :
In sand, you can have" Laugh In " type prangs - you know, the sort of things slow Noodles Like I tend to have in the Sand. As I'm too much of a Cowardly Bear to attempt to go remotely quick, now. Which makes a ' Laugh In ' Prang, inevitable.
Or, you have what I call, rather uncouthly, "Airline Disaster Prangs " I was thinking, with Tim's one - bummer, he was in 3rd, doing well - but his bike seemed a bit 2nd hand, so, perhaps an ' Mild AD" prang.
Then, Kay had his - lucky young man, at that pace, he did an 'Almost' AD prang.
Great Racing!
Chase has been really good with his commentary!
4 gps in a row with maximum points for the weekend for Herlings. Incredible.
