Had that second 450 moto finished as it seemed like it was going to with Hunter getting 3rd instead of a DNF, they would be heading into the last four motos:

Hunter +10 over Jett

With the DNF, they now head into the final four motos:

Jett +10 over Hunter

It seemed like a lot of the commentary put more faith/percentage on Hunter sealing the deal when he was +12 with 6 motos. Now that he’s on the back foot, do you think he could be the one to take control of the championship and put it to Jett over the final 4 motos (basically what Jett had to do these final few rounds). The math maths, so can Hunter be the one who’s perfect over the final four motos to clutch out a championship that’s still in his grips?

More than anything, I just enjoy how evenly the points lead swapped from +10 to +10. Grinning

I doubt it, when the pressure is on, he throws it away.

He prefers to be the Hunter not the hunted.

Really? The guy makes a mistake (and to be fair he hasn't had many crashes in this mx season) and because he has one he's under pressure ! Tough crowd

I’m with Kiwi on this.

I don’t understand why he didn’t go straight to the mechanics area…but, he probably felt that there wasn’t enough time for that…

No worries. It’s time for Hunter to pull it off and just win this shit.

I like your thinking and well thought out post 😏 It is definitely going to be interesting to see/hear the commentary from the usual media this week in regards to exactly what you posted! Honestly with the way the 450 season has played out between the brother’s it is hard to predict anything 🤷‍♂️ If Jett never had his foot injury this wouldn’t even be a discussion but here we are! I honestly believe that Hunter is still right in this thing with 2 rounds to go and how good is that 😊

Yeah but Yak and you are not DV 🤷‍♂️ DV is Accredited with his racing career and his dry sense of humour and his very high race IQ! What do you and Yak have to bring to the table?

Yeah I remember the PulpMX Podcast when DV was on and the Ruttlege Wood Segment 😂 I Don’t remember specific comments though, but honestly that episode is just one of the reasons that DV is a national treasure in our sport and it is sad that he has returned to France and doesn’t come on English speaking Podcast’s anymore 😢 Between him and Keefer (Because they are honest and just say what is on their minds) they are the best personalities in the sport followed closely by JT 💪 I like honesty.

The first moto when Jett went down Weege and James were like, well that’s it, he’s gonna have to do something special to win this thing. This is far from done. Hunter has shown he has an extremely short memory and can go win next week. Jett has been on the ground this season more than ever. Until the last checkered waves it’s still on.

Jett has been surprisingly inconsistent (for him) this season, and Hunter has been really good. It's not over yet.

To be fair, he's been riding on one leg so to speak. He's had to completely change his riding balance. The better the foot, the more he's back to normal. I can't imagine having to take up all the impact on one leg all the time.

Let's bring in KR to the conversation. But in all seriousness, once you get that monkey on your back, that you're choking in clutch times, it's tough to get it out of your head. So not unreasonable for people to opine on that.

Hunter could absolutely still win this. He's been the better rider all season. That mistake Sat just cost him because of where he made it, on a near vertical drop-off. That said, Jett has this. He just needs to put everything into splitting motos the next 2 races with Hunter and he's got the title.

Jett does have a much better history of delivering in clutch moments.

Little brother's going to have his hands full trying to keep this from happening.

Hunter's going to be on a mission this weekend.

You're right... how do I fix this?
The Shoe Is on the Other Foot - Diana Derringer

I like both brothers and they are as fun as hell to watch. The precision and the cat and mouse is a blast! I find myself stressed the whole time. My hope would be that it comes down to the last moto of the year. Unfortunately, Jett is excellent at managing championships and he is such a heady rider that 10 points seems almost insurmountable. I am slightly pulling for Hunter because I really like the guy.

Weege has this terrible habit of narrative control in the booth. He announces the "event" at the top of his lungs, then without pausing tells everyone what to think about said event.  The consistency of it leads me to believe it's more directive than habit.
