After seeing how the 250 championship played out, I genuinely believe Shimoda would've won relatively easily had he not gotten injured. Davies has shown inconsistency at Southwick and Spring Creek and we all know Kitchen can't get a start. Meanwhile Shimoda had gotten top 10 every moto, top 5 the past 6 motos before injury, and Southwick onwards are his best tracks.

We all saw him beat Deegan at Unadilla last year, and his style should fit the 450s better so he realistically couldve been in the battle w/ Prado and maybe even Deegan on occasion (remember last year, Shimoda was not getting waxed by Deegan, they either flip-flopped race wins or Shimoda was 5-10 seconds back, but rarely 30+).

I hate it for Hunter. First the SX championship & now the MX championship (not over yet). I know he wants it so bad so it looked like he was pushing to hard & for the first time this season, his bike didn’t look as good as it usually does. I wonder if that played a part in his crash? 

I’m pumped that Prado & Deegs are riding good. It looks like Prado has his bike dialed in but Deegan is still struggling w/ setup. Hopefully they can get it dialed. I’d like to see all 4 of them battling. 

I’m just a fan of good racing. The more guys at the front, the better!

But I was originally saying the 250 class at the time was about 2 seconds a lap slower from top to bottom (understandably with power difference outdoors) to defend our “weak” field of 250 guys. I still don’t think we have a weak field. I just think we have a ton of fast guys who are very inconsistent. I mean look at today…if our field was weak Tomac and Osborne would have cruised in to great finishes.

He has ridden 450 at times previous to this year and they said he was flying.  He had 2 months full prep on 450 before outdoors after locking the 250W SX.  18 motos over the last 2.5 months with all the summer and 3 weeks off before this race.  It’s Star Yamaha.  Deegans hire the best to help.  Maybe he is just not as fast….and may never be.  …and he has not lead 1 lap the whole outdoor season.  Still fast as hell….but…c’mon…blaming the bike?
