Congrats! Beautiful bike!

Price means nothing, you can't put a price on what makes you happy.  I honestly can't remember what I paid for the last 10 450's that I've bought over the years. If you got what you wanted, that's all that matters.

Enjoy it 👍

Thanks man! It's going to be a big learning curve for all of the buttons.  Launch control, maps, etc.  🤣 Its not my first Italian bike. I had a Cagiva 125 WMX back in the day. I think this will be a lot easier and more fun to ride. I was signing the paperwork at the table and got an email from the dealer showing bikes on sale. They have a 2026 KXF 450 for $6,499. Had I not been going through my mid-life crisis, I probably would've got that. But you only live once! I had my eyes on the Ducati ever since they came out.

I did tell her I was considering it. She's in Los Angeles visiting her family, once I mentioned it to her and she didn't complain I went straight to the dealer. Sorry about your injuries. I've got a replaced knee, so it probably wasn't the best purchase for me. I'm blown away by the electronics these new bikes have and the Ducati app seems really cool for tuning and seeing maintenance schedules.

Totally agree buddy! Mine could see how excited I was. I did buy us a cruise a few months ago for over Christmas, so I think that helped me a bit. I always say go big or go home.  lol

Don't get me  wrong - I love Ducatis, and, have them, work on them, make Frames and other 'things' for them.

A few days a week I'm surrounded by near on a 100 of them. 3 of which are Real Green Frames.

But that bloody Lego 450 is The Most Disgusting Thing!

It's Such an atrocious rendition of  Such  a Beautiful Bike.

I've got the now discontinued Panigale V4  R Lego, and, have just been silly enough to buy the new , $229. AUD  Panigale V4 S Lego. So, I'm no stranger to being a bit of a kid.

Enjoy your new bike - perhaps do a bit of a Grease check while you are waiting to ride it - a mate did his, and, while he said it was better than most bikes - he's still glad he did so - he's a bit of a fanatic with prep of a new bike.

Nice!   I am actually trading my non factory edition with 40hrs on a factory edition next week.   Possibly at the same dealer as I see you are in VA?

I got it at Coleman Powersports in Falls Church. How was the non-factory version?  The app this thing has seems really cool.

Looks awesome.

What is special on the Factory edition?

Suspension coatings, full exhaust and a skid plate.   The mapping and the suspension internals are the same.   If you are planning on getting the exhaust you might as well get the factory edition then.

Yep same dealer.   I pick mine up next week there.    Good no complaints.   I got it last October.   Honestly I was only on the stock ecu for less then a month as the stock mapping was pretty bad back then but I know they have improved it since then.  Only reason for trading is im due for a top end soon and I couldn't pass up on the deal they made me.  Fun bike.    I think the 250's are gonna be ton of fun

Right so exhaust.    The dedicated mapping you can actually have the dealer update your ecu for free for this on the regular model.   Compared to the other bikes out the app is a bit simple.   I bought the wifi module and used it once.   I dont really think its worth the money.   As far as the triple clamps go one of the best mods you can do for this bike is buy an aftermarket set to get off the stock 20mm offset.  So if your planning on buying the exhaust already its worth it to just get the factory model and you get some added goodies.  They have been out long enough that most dealers are willing to deal on them too.

Love the bike but it does have some quirks that need addressed to be on par with some of the other 450's out there.

Again congrats on the new bike as I do think they are the best looking out there as well as the craftsmen ship is stunning.    There warranty is great as well at 3 months/20hrs.    I know of a few people that had things covered alot further out than that even though it wasnt Ducati's fault.

That dealer is also awesome to work with.   I email or text the service department for any parts needed, I get a payment link and they show up at my door a few days later.

Have fun/be safe and hopefully I will see that thing down at Tomahawk mx!

As an Italian/Irish man from New Jersey, this is what I'd buy if my stock market prowess gets me some more "F-U Money". Congrats, and report back with the ride reports.

The sales guy was telling me they have sold a lot of bikes to people up in PA. Glad to hear you like it! I figured getting the factory model with the exhaust and other things it comes with makes it worth it. It turns a lot of heads even with my non-moto friends.

If you see a Rivian R1T with the Ducati at Tommahawk, come say hi!  I will be the extremely slow guy on a nice bike. 🤣

Will do! I won't be able to take out for a few weeks unfortunately. I have to work this weekend and get the kids the weekend after. Its going to be hard looking at it in the garage during the week. 🤣

put it in the Living Room! Then you won't have to go all the way to the garage to enjoy it while it's spanking new and won't leak on the floor inside. If it must stay in the garage LOCK that thing up so it won't get pinched.

Care to share the quirks?

If this bike had KYB on it, i probably would already own one. Im a sucker for new cool stuff but wasnt a fan of the showa stuff on my 21 works Honda or 23 kx sr.

Sure.

It wants to load the front hard on decel or downhills that are rough.    It blows through and never seems to be able to recover.

Im told rep has a pretty good setup for the stock showa stuff.   I was running the factory connection linkage with reworked showa from my local guy but still wasnt all that happy.

Recently swapped to an ohlins shock and fork inserts that were done by adreani USA as well as back on stock linkage and its world's better.   Every company is springing the front at least 1 rate heavier than you normally would to keep it up in the stroke.

Other thing I did was swap to luxon clamps at 24mm offset from the oem 20mm and that was a big improvement.

The motor is what I love the most and everyone who rides it says the same.   It never stops pulling but is insanely smooth.   I had one of the early ones and the mapping was horrible.   I heard the newer ones are way better.    Im on a get that was tuned and its much stronger on the bottom now.   Still smooth just alot more lugability.

For reference im 42 6 foot 200lbs without gear run vet a and came off a 24 yz450

Good info. I want to find one to spin a few on. Im currently on 24yz450 and were the same size and age. I love my bike and I'm honestly only contemplating switching due to the reports of newer yams getting "slower" or tamed down. Airbox and ECU right off the bat if i stay yam. Sounds like id have some work to do on the Ducati too tho. My bike was fun at Lorettas, but definitely a beast on such a small track.

Good info! I emailed Factory Connection about getting the suspension setup and the linkage. I was looking into the Tokyo Mods Vortex ECU, but think I may go with the GET even though its a little more. I haven't even ridden it yet and looking at the options! 🤣

I already bought the Luxon engine mounts. They arrived in two days! I know they probably won't offer any advantage to me, but they look really cool!

Looking forward to running into you at the track!

Was exactly why I got off the yamaha.  Our local tracks are small and tight.   Its to jerky down low and feels like it signs off early.   The cockpit always felt cramped to me as well.

Yeah I wish you were closer Id let you hammer some laps on it.    I will probably be at redbull day in the dirt at highpoint in October if your going.

I pretty much bank on doing suspension and ecu on any bike I get so dont really base anything on that.   The new Honda would be my go to if I wasnt enjoying this so much.

I know a few people that had there's done by fc and weren't thrilled.  I think REP and ride jbi have good setups for them as well as Andreani as they have been working with the ducati alot since it came it.

I may sell my fc linkage if your interested.   Could meet u down at tomahawk.   As well as let you Ride mine to see if you think the ecu is worth it.  The oem may be much better now.   Also VPE can remap your stock ecu for less than half the price as a get.   Or if you go the get route get it from a tuner that has dialed it some instead of straight from get.  I got mine from hpracedevelopment outta TX.

Im usually at tomahawk on Wednesdays....
