I think the number was much higher than that. I think it was $250k if I remember correctly. They might not have noticed $50k for a while.

This is a really stupid question but what happens if someone with zero assets and no job gets sued for an amount like this?
Do what OJ did....
I order to “beat” someone representing themselves i guess it costs 690k lol.
I'm guessing that Wasserman will recover peanuts. They can try to force sales of any hard assets that can be located and garnish any bank accounts, etc., but from what I've read, there is likely to be little available to satisfy the judgment.
almost $1M in overhead because his ego was too big to settle early. wow. their lawyers put in 1,300+ hours on this case lmao just for him to lose (settle?) in arbitration anyway
Arbitration, not judge. Just fyi
Happens a lot. Basically you are SOL.
Even the skinny jeans have been pawned off...he's down to his last pair.
He even tried his hand at 'babysitting'. But it didn't work out...as you can imagine.
$500k+
A thief was ordered to pay me restitution of $1,200 about 15 years ago. I still get checks from the court on his behalf. They are anywhere from $8 up to about $75. If he owed me a million, I'd still be getting the same checks.
do they apply interest to that or no?
Not as far as I know. I never thought I'd see a dime and had completely forgotten about it when the checks started to come.
Has he posted another insane social media rant after this judgement?
Misread your comment….

Got a total of 8 million settle from abusiness and the the dude that killed my son. Not a penny yet
Possible when the for we might get something from their estate. Depends how well the spend their money and hide/sell off their assets. At least that's what the lawyers are saying. They even hired out a group that does nothing but hints for the money. They also get a percentage on top of the lawyers 37%>
They basically said to hope got to hope for the best but not to get to hopefully.
As long as it makes their life a little harder and more miserable I'm okay with that.
No, but he’s parting out an e2 on Facebook😂
Hey man, I’m really sorry to hear about your son. I wish you and your family the best.
Apparently his house was foreclosed on.
Wait, this can’t be correct!
Kooksey said that he ‘had a plan to repay the money’ and if you have a plan to repay the money, even if it’s just in your head, you aren’t doing anything wrong…..!
Judge Brazil was an excellent Federal Magistrate when he was on the bench and is a very respected arbitrator and mediator.
They'll have a judgment out of this, which can be used for an extended period of time to attach property he's hidden or gets in the future. Interest will run on the judgment amount until it's paid. But, yes, a judgment where there are no assets makes it hard to collect.
So, let's say the Lawrence's win their case too, who gets paid first, Wasserman since their case closed first? Or would things get split?
Wasserman will be first in time to get their judgment liens recorded and start the collection process for what that's worth. Even if he owns unencumbered assets Texas is a debtor haven with broad exemptions from creditors. It's a tough place to collect money. Florida, too.
Yep. Fraudsters who fear the end of their schemes drawing near often flee to TX or FL to try to insulate their assets from judgment creditors.
I thought that the Lawrences dropped their case and it became a criminal case?
