I'm very down with policing atrocities around the world, at least through 100% cutoff sanctions if nothing else. Having the ability to help people and choosing not to is shameful. I just wish people were consistent about it, hemming and hawing about Russia just because rich daddy says so and then acting super passionate elsewhere. That 180 degree inconsistency is how we know the complaint is phony. 

Side comment about going after the leaks about running out of missiles, which Trump says is untrue......isn't it just going after someone for lying if it's untrue? Can something be a leak and also be untrue at the same time?

I agree with this. As long as the people that matter know what is in the arsenal, who cares what anyone else knows? Doesn't sound like it threatens our safety, especially if it's not true.

It's a one word answer: badly.

I have found it interesting how  politics  has people viewing 2 similar ways of government spending  totally differently .  

Some against supporting Ukraine because  "HEY THAT'S MY TAX DOLLARS BEING SPENT" even though the weapons sent over are made by US defence contractors right beside the bombs that are dropping over in Iran.   

 And then people saying the money spent to go after Iran is money well spent, and american lives lost  pale compared to the lives that will have been saved by stopping  a madman from getting ahold of a nuke. While  the partisan split has the pro Ukraine  party against that spending .

 A generality,  really, I'm not saying that everybody is all in on the opposite if they are for one or against the other. Just that the similar arguments exist in this strangely partisan way.   

 I know they are not really identical situations. But the split along party lines of which is justifiable spending and which is  not  is very much alike. And the  opposition of spending to help Ukraine  but not being opposed to helping Israel is really similar to the argument used in the opposite directions . If the true end goal is to prevent a mad man running wild who happens to control a military with Nuclear weapons  then the end goals are  very similar.  Both are the US policing the world.  

 The reasons behind being pro help Israel and pro help Ukraine are very similar.  Stopping somebody from invading and killing their neighbors. The biggest differences I see are one  started more offensive, and one started   more defensive,   one already has a very capable nuclear arsonal, while the other was feared to be trying to build one.  The threats of  a military with Nuclear  capabilities  going after their neighbors. 

One country being helped already has Nukes, the other gave them up on the promise of help defending themselves if attacked.  

 I have a harder time justifying or not justifying either one after I took a while to step back and gain a fresh perspective. Why is  there a big split via politics?  Both at their core trying to accomplish a similar thing if the reasons for each are taken at face value.   So why the partisan split?  Is it simply that each  voter base doesn't trust the word of the opposing parties leaders as much as they trust their own? Any ideas?

President Donald Trump was impeached the first time in December 2019 by the House of Representatives for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The charges stemmed from a phone call with Ukraine's president where Trump pressured him to investigate a political rival while withholding military aid.

So Trump does not like Zelenskyy or Ukraine and therefor many Trump/MAGA minions also don’t like Zelenskyy or Ukraine, and they bitch about the US spending money to support Ukraine against Russia's aggression.

However………

Trump started the war with Iran so many Trump/MAGA minions support that war and are OK with the money the US is spending on that war.

Whatabouts are no excuse for tactical errors

His war is more like dumping $$$$$$$$$$ into debt.

I forget how simple things often are when it comes to Trump.    I wonder what the answer would be from somebody who is a  current Trump supporter. If it would be the same as the one You gave. Or how it may vary.
