Is everyone else tired of the same talk every week between deegan vs jett? The only rivalry building is jett vs Hunter and deegan vs prado. Jett has beat deegan 12 out of 14 motos and the 2 he did not is because of a crash. Yes deegan is good, but the reality is he has not lead a single lap. Of course he will eventually win a moto or overall, but others have beat the lawrences also but no one can do it often. I dont understand how this can still be the talk of the week 7 rounds in and other than a couple motos, he is the same 20 seconds a lap behind. He will get better, but so will jett and hunter. The series is half over and the lawrences can stay home next weekend and still be 1-2 in points. The results do not lie, but the bed bugs keep saying otherwise.

Deegan is closer to Marchbanks and RJ than he is to Jett. I'm sure that will change one day, but that's what it is right now. I think he will be very good at the playoffs though
Deegan is trying to manufacture a rivalry with Jett just as his dad did with Pastrana.
Haiden is closer to Jett in talent than his dad ever was to Travis. But he is still clearly not at his or Hunters level just yet. He likes to claim he is improving. But his results are only better when they crash. His level seems about the same as it has all year IMO. Which is still great. But his second place result only occurred after Jett crashed and was pinned under his bike. Jett was 25 seconds ahead of him before then which is a pretty consistent gap between Deegan and the leaders. Only narrows if they crash.
Many of the greatest rivalries in sports have had lopsided win/loss records and were predicated on one side being the underdog.
You (Jett fans) despise Deegs and his fans so much that you are eager to close the book on him and prematurely declare the rivalry as settled. This is a mistake. The rivalry is only just beginning and this outdoor season is comparable to round 1 in a 12 round fight. Deegs has never missed a race in his career, he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, neither are his “bed bug” fans, and neither is the rivalry.
This is the first time in this sport that a fierce rivalry has spilled over in to the fans. It’s like two soccer clubs that hate each other (e.g. Manchester United vs. Liverpool) and the fans hate each other as much or even more than the athletes. Except with Jett vs. Deegs, it’s mainly Jett fans that passionately hate Deegs fans. Deegs’ fans don’t hold the same disgust for Jett fans, they just ardently want to see their guy pull off the upset in a David vs. Goliath style matchup and they are extremely devoted to their guy. The hostile divide between the fans is an indicator of how big this rivalry actually is. It’s massive and it’s easy to see that it’s more than likely going to grow.

There's only been 3 guys that have beaten the Lawrences for an outdoor overall win since they moved up to the 450 class.
Sexton (5x), Tomac (2x), and Plessinger (1x).
Since 2024 when Hunter moved up, only one has beaten both for an overall and it's Sexton who did it twice.
The only rivalry at the top is between the brothers.

Not making a joke here, but the best rivalry over the last 3 years is Harlan vs Hand.
Those 2 guys, no matter the class/bike/venue are always BOTH fighting for the bubble spot. Indoors it's the LCQ, outdoors it's the last points paying position. 250s, 450s, doesn't matter. These two guys find one another on the field of battle and duke it out almost every time
Some youtuber with too much time on their hands could review the last 36 months of AMA race footage and have a feature length doco of 2 dudes who were destined to run each other's feet over in every corner.

he has lost by an average of 37 seconds per race this year and just under 17 seconds per race when you remove crashes from Deegan, but not removing crashes from the Lawrences
he is improving and will be great, but you guys need to pump the brakes and realize there’s still a lot of work to go to be fighting for a championship against the brothers
The media wants a rivalry so that it gives them something to talk about, but for the time being it's non-existent.

For a rivalry to be a thing it requires mutual recognition. Meaning both sides see eachother as meaningful competitors.
A one sided rivalry isn't really a rivalry. It's just one person fixating on another who doesn't reciprocate.
In other words, if rider A is constantly talking about rider B, and rider B doesn't consider rider A to be particularly significant, you would say rider A has an obsession, not a rivalry.
Between the shirt, the digs at Jett and his girlfriend, the on track shenanigans during qualifying, and them ignoring him most of the time, one could say he's rider A and they're rider B.

Plessinger beat both of them at Hangtown in 2024 in the second moto. He finished 2nd, Hunter 4th, and Jett 6th.
True, but MXON is voluntary just like WSX. In his contractually obligated series, SX, MX, and SMX he’s never missed a single race. He’s the only rider in history to do that to this point.
None of what you said lessens the rivalry. Counting seconds and wins won’t make it go away.
Prime sexton and Tomac have managed only a few moto wins against the Lawrences outdoors over the years. The bros really haven't lost in years. Deegan isn't at prime sexton or Tomac levels yet. But he is consistently closer than anyone else this year. And is one of the only riders who has shown he can come through the pack to the front.
But yeah. Deegan isn't there yet. He starts behind both of them pretty much evey moto. And the couple times he has started in front of one of them he wasn't able to keep them behind. But he has made a couple passes on them. Which not many other people can say this year.
He is definitely the closest to beating them. But isn't close enough yet..
The rivalry is bigger than Jett and Deegs. It’s as much of a fan rivalry as it is a rivalry between the riders. Jett fans chirp nonstop about the cute puppy on Vital. The cute puppy is the dominating topic of discussion week in and week out for them. This thread is living proof of that. Keeping Deegs at bay is practically what Jett fans live for. They count every second that he finishes behind Jett and find happiness and comfort in it. They even take great joy in harassing the Deegs fans. The hysteria is unprecedented.
There’s never been a more bitter, fiery, and far reaching rivalry in this sport. Nothing comes close to this level of passion.
