Yeah the Lawrence brothers are fast but Factory 450 Hondas are fast too!

I agree it’s not the bike.   The way those factory 450 Honda’s hook up and scoot is impressive.  Maybe it’s just the Lawrence’s can make um hook up.  Yeah Deegan can get his blue bike to hook up but just looks like the Honda’s pull really hard on corner exit.

Deegan’s Star Racing Yamaha 250 had a bigger performance advantage over the rest of the 250 field than the factory Honda 450 has over Haiden’s 450

Riding technique, Deegan revs the bike more and uses the clutch to modulate the power. The Lawrence's ride more like Kenny, lower rpm's, less clutch, and throttle control to modulate the power. One is much easier to maintain traction vs the other.

The Hondas absolutely hook up and accelerate. They have something figured out.

It would be interesting to get the low down on how the factory bikes stack up against each other.  I’d guess the 250’s are all pretty close.  I don’t know if that’s the case with 450’s.  Those red bikes seem to hook up.  Be interesting to see where Triumph and Beta compare to Jap and Austrian factory bikes.

When your dad is a Drag Car enthusiast who is mechanically minded, eager to learn about the machines just as much as the mechanic does. your environment and time is a factory racing workshop, with like minded people and 2 boys who absorb information and technique like a sponge...Things are going to go well.

The post insinuates the Lawrence brothers have some sort of unfair advantage, are you saying that if they were on Star Yamaha and Degan was on Honda they would be losing to him?

It's easy to look at someone winning and say the bike is incredible, what we don't get to see too often is how close the top riders are in speed on a stock bike. When we have, the difference is always far less than most assume.

Not intended to imply anything unfair. Not at all. Plenty you can do with an ECU to get the power down effectively. GET ECU has lots of traction control capability.

KTM comes with TC, Honda has their torque control too. All I’m saying is that they have it very refined in the GET ECU.

I'll second that! There have always been bike disparities in motocross.

The difference between the Honda and the Yamaha is 100% the riders. Jett and Hunter ride way smoother and are in a higher gear than Deegan. Although Deegan and the Lawerence's are all great riders in there own ways, Some have a little more in different parts of their game.

Webb and Deegan have both been getting pretty good starts on their “blue pigs”

Yeah and the Lawrences built the bike.

You got a father that can see things on the bike thats not working, then you got 2 brothers who are good at relaying information on what the bike is doing.

Building the bike deserves credit.

Prado also on both his KTM and the Kawasaki . Almost like it’s the riders reaction time and technique that gets the same guys starting out front.

Deegan has gotten jumps from the gate where he is clearly ahead of everyone. He is consistently starting better this year. Because he has worked on it.

Yep. Setting up the bike is a part of the job.

Riders bitching about the bike are just half assing their job and complaining about it.

They tried to bring this up on the last Deegan thread. I don't even know what to say. I think reply #1 puts it very well, and even if there is some disparity, Deegan has all the resources possible at his disposal to close the gap.

The fact is that he is going to have to take a step to contend with the brothers regularly. I don't think he's that far off. Fans trying to blame the bike on his behalf is next level glazing.

It's also funny because if Deegan starts beating the brothers they will then give Deegan all of the credit, not be sitting there saying they must have found some more power.

Honda is cheating...plain and simple. The Lawrences never got good starts until they jumped on the cheater 450. Now it seems no matter the jump or reaction time they get, they somehow manage to go 1 and 2 98% of the starts. That's statistically impossible.

I felt the same way about Star Yamaha's 250's. Its obvious Deegan had the luxury of a cheater 250 bike his whole career against a weak 250 class... I guess he is now paying the repercussions of poor technique now that HP is irrelevant.  🤣🤪
