Bro. DC ain’t gonna let you hit.
the broadcast rights originated with MX Sports at some point though right? if the alternative to flo sports is doing nothing, because lucas oil isn't funding it, then i guess, but it doesn't look like lucas funded it in 2024, so who did?
when did mx sports give up the broadcast rights to their own event and why/for what consideration?
Donny, you're out of your element
$40 bucks a month huh? So unfortunate for people everywhere that like to watch. Would be really interesting to hear how many people actually sign up to pay that. You think 1000 people will even do so? That's only 40k if even 1000 people were to do so. Minus all expenses and whatever percentage split is agreed upon. The Racer TV broadcast on Youtube was great and the proper way to broadcast the LL races. Now you just have to "FLO" out more money, and its even more expensive than Peacock at 9 to 12 bucks a month to watch all the Supercross and National races....bummer!
(Im sure this post will make a difference 😁)
Who are the 5 tards that down voted my question? 👎

I didn't say they gave up broadcast rights. Should they PAY to broadcast their own race?
huh?
potentially, yes. how is it out of their hands if they still have broadcast rights?
I never said it was out of their hands. I said if Racer wanted to quit giving it away, the only option would be to pay another broadcast team or start their own which would cost a fortune and makes no sense. It's amazing how many complain when something was free for years, then it gets behind a paywall and everyone cries about it. Nobody is forcing you to watch it.
So basically everyone values live LL broadcast at $0 and want whoever is responsible for that broadcast to absorb the costs. You see where this is going, right? What business venture would succeed by catering to a customer who’s not willing to pay for the service?
its kind of a false dichotomy tho. there's paying to watch it and then there's paying 2.5x the cost of AppleTV (which now includes F1 btw..which used to be ~$90 a YEAR for f1 f2 f3) for a service with a known track record of piss poor production quality and borderline fraudulent business practices.
he literally could have picked anybody besides flo and caught 20% of the flak hes catching now, but he probably picked them because of the lucrative (on paper) royalty structure.
I upvoted you bro. Man, are you going to get anymore ride fast die punk shirts? Be cool to see a hoodie with that on it.
The entitlement is real. MX Sports has zero responsibility to stream anything for free. Tour de France is not free. SX is not free. Movies are not free. Basically nothing is and that's what it takes to stay in business.
When you sell a bazillion advertisements to companies that understand the viewers will be seeing them via a free stream, that's not "streaming for free."
Now they'll still sell a bazillion advertisements, and charge viewers a ridiculous subscription fee on top of it. It sucks for the fans, and it sucks for the participants.
Again, I am sure you have some sort of proof they told sponsors it would be streamed for free?? No you don't, just more making shit up.
You're right, sponsors pay for advertising without knowing how/who will be consuming it. No I don't have proof of the contract, but let's use a little bit of critical thinking here and use our imaginations on an internet discussion board. It wasn't being "streamed for free" at any point.
Has zero to do with critical thinking. Racer TV took all those races to Flo, many of which are not MX Sports. Mx Sports and the other promotors agreed meaning they thought it was the best choice for THEIR races. Whether it is or not is yet to be seen.
Those shirts "Moto Jerks" > Ride Fast Die Punk are in stock in all sizes on our website. No plans on doing it on a hoodie...Cheers!
I guess they’re charging sales tax on everything now? Looked up admission pricing and it showed TN sales tax was applied. Never seen sales tax applied to a gate fee at a track before.
Pit Row
I hope SRAM starts charging you a subscription fee to access their preexisting electronic ecosystem. You can always switch to Shimano like the nerds. Just business.
It's not entitlement to voice dissatisfaction with a service. Again, you're conflating two positions; paying to access at all, and paying bozos F1tv money for state fair quality.
Mx sports doesn't need to monetize coverage to stay in business. And the product itself is largely consumed by the participants, whom are already being fleeced progressively more every year. Supercross or f1 or movies are not analogous Products; this is (or was) a value add to the amateur national product; not THE product.
Reading a 2013 racerX article it looks like tim cotter was tasked with monetizing racertv by selling production to other series and failed. Can't imagine why.
If it's the same quality as the free streams from previous years, that's daylight robbery. The Loretta broadcast is awful, but gets away with it because it's free. I definitely won't be paying $40
I'm not here to argue with anyone, a business has all the rights to do what they think is best for the business. I think the point is that Mxsports already over charges for EVERYTHING at Loretta's. They are selling out all the kids and riders that would love to be able to go watch their motos from an event that they spent thousands of dollars to make and attend. Now they have to pay a monthly or yearly fee to be able to go rewatch. The only thing I would love to know, and I have a good idea of how many live viewers racerTV had on average every day in the past, is how many people actually sign up and pay to watch. I bet it is a small percentage of viewers in the past. Seems like a loss for what they gain.
You hv to show DC this 1st. It’s from the 1st magazine. It was a newspaper like mag b4 being a magazine.
Yo LL... I got this bridge in Brooklyn for sale... top shelf, high end Bridge that I reallyyy don't wanna sell... but for you... I'll cut you a deal...
U ain't smart bruh... lol... you sticking up for the epstein class like a good robot... do you realize how many millions they making off that race???? Do u realize how cheap it is to do video these days??? Geezus man... granted, I do enjoy watching you overclock da chit out of your last two brain cells... lmaoooo
if you have a superbox flosports is on there so free.
The big Labowski
This is a super bad idea for the race, now no one is going to watch it and never gonna know who the kid in b class that rode his heart out and you are a fan of the rest of there career, that is now gone. having a hard time to belive that they need that money. im sure they could have gotten more money from peolpe if it was free and you could donate money insted.
They probably only accept cash at the door also, it sure why that would be 🤔
I don’t know him but seriously someone like Matty B walking around the track provides enjoyable to watch footage from all the races.
FLO is horrible. Good luck trying to cancel after a month also. It’s designed for you not to. At least it was last time I wasted money on that service.
Sponsors pay to be on a stream for exposure. Not much exposure because of the pay wall they will go else where. I would.
