Eli Tomac confirms Supercross only for 2027

That's a shame, but I don't blame him.

He's changed his mind before if he's feeling good I see him doing Outdoors.

Not surprised. 

He said he's 'planning for SX.'  

Eli's in the position now he's taking things one season at a time.  He never stated 'Supercross only.'  

For those of you who know him, he's a master of minimal words statements

We look at as fans, but he looks at it from a work/life balance perspective. Great decision IMO. 

He left a tiny bit of wiggle room in there, “…the plan is supercross.” While shaking his head side to side. My interpretation is if remaining outdoors goes really well there could be an option to do outdoors next year, but it’s not the current plan. Could also just be wishful thinking as a fan.

KTM making room for Coenen?

Yeah I don’t know how they’d field four 450s, which would make a Tedder factory Husky really, really interesting if he was dead set on outdoors for 2027. I know they’re not really an outdoor team, but I imagine they’d support it.

No. That is part of why Plessinger is racing for Triumph next year though. 

It's a good idea for Eli. 

Possibly why he didn't return at Southwick last weekend, to a track he said he really missed racing on this year.

Ian, three weeks ago, to Eli after saying he'd like to race Southwick:  
'Sorry Eli, but Jade (Dungey) is busy working on Sasha's bike that weekend.'

Glad to have watched his beast-mode outdoors for over a decade. Rooting for him to finish outdoors on a strong note and anchor the MXDN team.

I wouldn't rule it out.  Ian does want him to be 100% when he comes back, as much as anyone would.

First things first...

Eli is a sucker for a gate drop

If he gets injured/does worse than he wants in SX he will race outdoors for redemption.

He does well in SX he will race outdoors because he is feeling it!

With four kids at home he will want to get out of the house and race MX

Just too bad, what could have been this outdoor season. Definitely would have been in the mix to win this title. Legend.

Idk why this was downvoted. I guess people can’t handle the truth. Even the way he said it was like he was leaving the door open for a possibility.

I heard the interview before Michael started this thread.

My immediate reaction was he left the door open to race MX. Maybe only 25% open, but it's open. If he would have said "SX only", then yes the door to racing MX in 27 would be shut.

I wish ET3 would go to Beta for outdoors next year and help further developing. 
Much like Cairoli the last couple years. 
Have some fun with it.  
 

You're on PCP if you think Eli would have been in the mix to win this title. Jett and Hunter are on a diffferent level. Eli is 33-years-old. 

Dungy and Decoster made that program pretty strong. 
KTM doesnt need the help. 
Id like to see Beta rise to the top tier.
