This may be a far reach but after that sand show should some of these guys be rethinking just how good they are when a guy is literally going 6 seconds a lap faster in the middle of the moto ? Is this training? Grit ? Or pure talent do these guys here not want it bad enough now cause the checks cash ? Im very curious and been a huge fan for awhile Sasha was a bit wild but unbelievably fast.
Your in Delaware so can you send it in sand?
Don't tell me you didn't know that 250 class is weaaaaaaaaak?
It is never weak when it has results all over the place and consistency wins the championship and sometimes never even wins a single race.
Lol we used to have a sand track i also was never pro 😅

Also this was about professional riders that train in the sand as much as they want since most of them live in Florida for training so let's be realistic instead of deflecting
I wouldn't call the Wick a real sand track but it's sandy enough to cause problems for our guys that never really have to deal with it. It's a different animal. Gotta practice it to get comfortable.
Yep Ocean City
The Coenens grew up in Belgium and cut their teeth on deep sand tracks. Southwick ain't a sand track by European standards.
Lol Elizabeth city was the closest sand i ever got to play in
Have you rode it? Ppl who say it isnt a real sand track are funny.
The goal of the riders are go win the championship. The guy riding in the lead has is not racing this series therefore no reason to push to stay with him. He was fast real fast but it doesn’t matter all second has to do is beat third. The second moto Davies showed he could hang with Coenen after he got passed he backed it down and took the points. Could he have won? No I don't think so but he could have been way closer than he was at the end of the moto. Coenen kicked ass and won both motos in amazing domination. He also paid the price with a broken collarbone. Sacta Coenen is super fast and super dumb at the same time, he crashes all the time. It cost him an injury in a race that means nothing in the big picture which is the series he leads the points in. May be he will learn something from this and calm down and clean up his riding and stop throwing it away all the time. One thing for sure Sacta and Lucas are truly amazing fast and talented riders. I hope they come over hear next year.
No sir I haven't ridden there but I have ridden sand tracks on both sides of the pond. They don't have a base. Just bottomless sand.
The difference between Sacha and the Americans was pretty noticeable. Sacha had flow, kept his momentum up, hopping bumps and railing outsides when it presented itself. His weight was further back so he was less likely to stuff the front end. The Americans were still doing too much turn and pivot.
The Americans ride too far forward which leads to tucking the front. They also plow into every breaking bump going into a corner like they are SX whoops rather then hopping and doubling when it presents itself.
Another things Americans do is brake on that last, the biggest, braking bump before the turn, sort of roll over it and then get on the gas. Sacha hits that last big braking bump like a jump, landing in the berm with the bike leaned over.
Its enjoyable to watch a great sand rider just like it is a pleasure to watch a guy with excellent throttle control ride hard pack.
Sacha was definitely faster, he also did what sacha does and waded and probably has a broken collarbone so 🤷🏻♂️
It was sand. I think if Sacha did the whole season he would win the title but it's not like he would win every race by 30 sec. Thunder valley 2nd moto was a lot closer.
But it does show how stacked the MX2 class is. There's 7 riders that are very close: Sacha, Farres, Längenfelder, Mclellan, Everts, J Reisulis, Valin. Probably 4-5 of them could have won Southwick. Maybe not by 30 sec but they're all good in the sand.
Anyone, who’s got close enough speed, going up against Sasha over the course of a championship would back themselves that eventually he take himself out.
I'd like to see Guillem come back and be the second 250 rider on Triumph next year rather then get bumped up to 450.
Same here, he’s starting to peak on his 250 right now.
Pit Row
I agree hes riding very good im curious if it was more time or the atmosphere hes in now hes very smooth and technical
on-throttle time is higher.
He doesn’t race supercross so his technique is pure motocross. Let him do have a year of supercross and then see
Sasha wasnt the only guy crashing.
Both members of the Law Firm, RJ 3x, Lucas, Shimoda, Levi, Craig and on and on.
Surprisingly, and much respect to Deegan who kept it on 2 wheels. I thought he would have wadded up this weekend. He is doing great riding in the top group and staying up.
Sasha is fast but riding over your head both motos will eventually get you bit….. and it did. It’s also not a recipe to win championships.
I dont think Sacha couldve have done any more to prove he was on another level yesterday
goes 1-1-1 for the day
1st moto Had many mistakes in the first corners, no one was able to capitalize. Over 30 seconds lead. 4 seconds a lap faster at times
2nd moto: Arguably a generational talent and current points leader Cole Davies gets the holeshot. Sacha closed the gap, made a huge mistake, closed the gap quickly again, passes him, opens up a over 15 seconds lead, crashed hard, injures himself, probably breaking something, rides with no goggles.. and STILL runs faster laps than none other than Cole and the rest of the field. Insane
Coenens are freaks and especially in the sand. Remember, sacha won bot motos at kegums this season by 30sec or so.
Why are you asking us?
Ive ridden bottomless sand tracks and southwick is absolutely a sand track. Theres different types of sand tracks and the hard base makes it even more brutal than normal.
One of the last 2 mxgp races he crashed hard too. He didn’t win that moto. I think he’is still a crasher. It’s the most fun letting it hang out . But I think you hv to limit the laps of letting it hang out. Or pick your favorite spots to let it hang out.
Oh I agree. That's what makes it especially brutal. Going from wheel sucking sand to cobby hard base is super difficult. I didn't say it wasn't sandy but it sure isn't a full on sand track. It's a monster.
He'll figure it out or we will witness his wfo demise. 🤔
