Surprised, no one is sayin, Lucas and Sasha's boss has to be pissed...

Hopefully they are both ok, but dang, that's about the worst case scenario.  Both down hard and atleast Sasha looks like he may have a broken or separated shoulder.  I'd be willing to bet, boss said, please just come back safely.  They were both in full send mode.

Hard to believe he actually broke something and still rode. Doubt it’s broke

Odds of them doing that third race they planned on doing? Grinning

Lucas seemed to be okay but Sacha definitely hurt something in his crash. I think today is going to be a hefty reminder for all the GP teams on allowing their guys to come race over here during their series, unfortunately.

EDIT: how is this a controversial take?

Nah, they were there to "learn, have fun and not take any risks".

I don't think Sacha has a clue what "not taking any risks" actually means.

It was Lucas bike which failed on him, nothing he could do. If anyone thought Sacha wasnt sending it dont know him. I think his boss knows him..

Lucas went from 39th to wherever he was.  That very possibly cooked the motor?  Who knows.  But saying nothing he could do... He could have ran a steady pace, not balls to the wall.  Not saying, I didn't fully enjoy it.  Just pointing out, he could have backed it down.  They were both full send.  As Ricky Bobby would say.... "It was awesome!"

Those dudes were ripping!

Could have rode at 90% and had a great day. I guess they are “checkers or wreckers” type racers.

Prado had a mechanical dnf and lucas comes over and his bike blows and has a dnf… could this affect them wanting to come over? KTMs not looking too reliable lately. Theyre definitely going to have to consider if the Ktm here is up to snuff. Prado was out of the championship right off the bat due to no fault of his own.

He was a few seconds off the leaders the entire race, plus he rides a gear high like jett. The bike should have held. KTM USA has unfortunately had some reliability probs this year.

Dungey also raced a full moto with a broken neck!

Herlings raced with a broken femur, I still don't understand how that worked. He had some off weeks but still came back for the the last round to try and get the title. He lost it by 4 points I think.

2016 I think Dungey finished 2nd overall at Lakewood with a broken NECK!

My nephew once rode a heat with a broken collarbone and he wasn't a great rider. He fell and stopped on the track at my dad (his uncle). Because the previous races he always came in without that something was wrong, my dad said: "Your only costing my brother money, don't forget we're all her for you. This is your hobby, think about if you're really loving it!". He stayed in the race and the next day he started complaining again from his "shoulder". He had broken his collarbone 🤣

Lucas’s boss would be pissed because another US KTM engine failed and took down his world championship leader.

…I’ll tell you what- IF Sacha really did break his collarbone and STILL WON THE MOTO  with no goggles in the sand, it has to rank as one of the grittiest rides in AMA motocross in the last decade.

And for those of you of a certain age who remember, could this kid be Magoo 2.0?  Sacha sacrifices it all to win, much like Danny Chandler did.

It boggles the mind to think about this young man lining up for Supercross….

Sacha was sending it pretty good. Nice lines floating over and jumping over some lines others bulldoze through. Carried a ton of momentum everywhere.

Dungey also crashed and broke his neck in moto 2 at Thundery Valley but continued to race from 19th to 4th.

That was awesome to watch except the crashes.  I hope they come over here full time next year.  I'm more worried for Lucas's head than Sasha's shoulder, but both injuries can suck. If I had to guess I'd say Sasha has an AC separation from the way he hit--i just did that myself.

Theres different ways to break a collar bone. If he broke it completely in half you usually arent able to use your arm, but it depends at what end of the bone it broke, how many breaks, and if the ends of the bone are able to stay pressed together. Since he could still use his arm that could lean towards a crack, but again it depends. I broke mine diagonally down the bone so there were no flat ends to “pop back into place” and support my arm so I was completely unable to use my arm in any way whatsoever and it felt like it was falling nonstop. Almost came out the skin too.

Hopefully its just a crack, but depending on the crack it could actually be worse than a complete break because a complete break will be plated and you can get back pretty quick, but a large crack would be at risk of breaking completely at the next race. Hopefully its not broken at all and just a painful hit.

That was a Magoo ride for sure.

Both of their Instagram posts were extremely vague and open ended/didn’t mention their third round in America at all.  Doesn’t mean they won’t but I thought it was interesting

No matter how bad it turns out or in what way it broke, it is pretty fucking unreal to immediately get up, pick up your bike and keep charging like that and even extend the gap to 2nd again. Adrenalin is one hell of a drug. He also seemed kinda dizzy once he took his helmet off. Alien things.

Totally agree on the Magoo comparison. RC, not so much, he didn't crash as much as Sacha. Magoo had the highest highs and and the lowest lows. The lows were definitely supercross - really concerned for Sacha. Surround him in bubble wrap.

Same as a couple unexplainable crashes from Chase last year and the reason Tom sat out a race. The KTM can’t be trusted
