Ppl talk about southwick and try to compare it to other sand tracks but its its own thing. Deep sand berms and huge whoops through each turn then on the straights its high speed hard base chop with slippery sand on top mixed with high speeds. The track has no flow at all and no big jumps to catch your breath on. It grinds you down. Plus new england summers get hot and humid as hell. Today is only 82 but its usually 90 and balls humid.
Other sand tracks end up with long wavelength rollers you can hop through and get a rhythm, southwick never gives you a chance to. It has such a random mix of chop on the straights with random whoops mixed in then big whoops around the deep sand corners theres no rhyme or reason to any of it. You just hold on and get rattled and swapped to death while your front wheel slips everywhere.
Same here, I absolutely loathe his personality but I will not bash him for his effort and tenacity. He would have a lot more fans including myself if he’d just be a normal decent human.
Fucking sucks how his race turned out, specially with the bike. 4-1 could have been very possible. Good decision though. Hope he's good
Plus if he could get his starts figured out, I think he could get on the podium... given a bad start from one or two of the top 4 guys. He's a good look for Kawi for sure.
Yea it was a good ride he stayed with hunter for a while. Two things can be true though he had a good start to the race and then after putting in a hot lap trying to catch hunter dropped anchor and lost 10 seconds in 2 laps. Hes definitely the best of the rest right now though.
