Marchbanks is having a great outdoor season so far.
The script reads, start 10-14...finish 5th or 6th showing good fitness and charging till the end.
Like to see him get a top 5 start and have him run and see the pace of the top 4 guys for the first half of a moto.
His starts are far worse then everyone in front of him and many behind him. He is riding great. Probably going to Need to figure out starts to do much better.

100% You beat me to it. He said he likes the bike and the whole team. I wonder if he has to pinch himself sometimes and think “I’m riding for factory Kawi…”
Marchbanks could start winning motos, become a championship contender and cure cancer and I’ll still never forgive him for the cheap shot he took on Tomac
^^^It’s your choice. But it was an accident/ racing incident.
Forgiving yourself self for such a bad take should be your first priority. 👍
They haven't shown him aa lot this year but when they have he's looked solid and steady. Today he looked FAST and confident. He might keep getting better.
Hey. Just an fyi, you don't need to double up on “self”. 😃🇺🇸
I might solve cancer and win championships but I will never forgive myself for that error. 😀
marchstanks was racing ?
Garrett is making Chase look a dick right now!
If Garrett is getting 5th & 6ths on it, there’s no reason why Chase couldn’t get 3rds and 4ths on it.
But his ego stopped him from doing that.
What are you talking about? If anything, he's exposing that the KX ISN'T a pos and a totally capable package. Multiple top five finishes in a field this stacked from a dude who's a rookie is pretty good in my book.
He was 4th in points until his bike shut off mid air and sent him flying...
'This field is stacked'
It really isnt mate.
Its poor, very poor.
Tony Cairoli just got off the couch at 40 and ran in the top 10.
The fact he went 6-5 but was almost a minute off the win tells us all we need to know.
Is he riding well, yes, am i surprised,no.
He is doing what at least 15 250 guys could be doing , if they didnt stay down to try and win half a SX Championship every year for 10 years.
Irony is, he would be a shoo-in for an MXoN place if Kawasaki actually went.
Pleased to see him making the decision to hire him a good one, now we need to see who they can get to replace Sexton. I think it wont be anyone better than him. Who is there that will go there?
Chase doesn't need Garrett.
He also finished 6th overall in SX after missing a handful of rounds compared to Marchbanks finishing in the low teens. He’s riding really well, but, @Thisusernameisavailable, he’s definitely not making Chase look like a dick.
Pit Row
I think the field is actually very stacked….but the top 4 dudes are just so much better than the rest of them that we can’t see the talent 5-15.
Agree. Same for 250s. Both classes are stacked as hell imo
You call this stacked??
No Tomac, Cooper, Sexton, AP, Anderson, Mookie, Savatgy. The season looked promising for a minute but anyone not named Lawrence is definitely benefitting from attrition.
Garrett is doing awesome. He's taken a great opportunity and is making the best out of it. He's improving every week and clearly giving 100%. I'm becoming a bigger Marchbanks fan every moto. Keep it up Garrett
I think that as a whole, dudes have gotten faster, stay around longer and bikes have gotten better in the 450 class. So comparatively and collectively, the 450 class is much better than it has ever been.
But the separation at the top is also much greater than it’s ever been.
Idk, don't know all the things going on behind the scenes. I dont watch all the podcast stuff but I havent heard him complain about the bike as much as people make it sound.
Either way, I don't think that Marchbanks beating Harrup and Barcia means the bike is fine. He'd probably do the same on a Beta...
I think marchbanks is riding well but I also think he'd be hovering around the top 10 if the field wasn't massively depleted, and would rarely break into the top 10 of MXGP. Fine for a number 2 on a factory team, but also not enough to demand a huge salary or expect to keep the spot when the next hotshot rookie comes through. I also don't think him finishing a minute behind the lead proves anything about the Kawasaki being a bike that can win championships
Imo, the top 2 riders in the pro nationals are probably the 2 fastest guys on the planet right now, with Coenen and Herlings being the only active and fit riders that could go with them depending on the track and day. The issue is you have those 2 fastest guys around and then there's a huge drop on the AMA side of things after the Lawrences. Deegan and Prado will be scrapping over 3rd and comfortablly ahead of 5th (most weeks) and then those guys in the 5th-10th range are getting good results but are really not even in the same race. An ancient Cairoli was battling for top 10 this weekend, Tondel is regularly around the top 10 too. I don't think we can justify "deep field" comments in a universe where a 40 y/o Cairoli on a Ducati is chasing down Jordon Smith on a Triumph in a battle for 10/11th
Kept Jett behind him for about 8 min yesterday, and has kept Jorge in sight in multiple motos this year.
The pace is a lot better than some folks are giving credit for, just needs some starts and he is a solid threat for the podium.
We've been saying he "just needs some starts" for how many years now? When are we going to admit he's just a bad starter and that this will always affect his results?
Well, yes, obviously he's not a good starter. But he does have podium capable pace, which isn't true for a number of the guys finishing in the top 10.
And "good start" is relative. Like I wouldn't consider 6th around the corner a good start for Jorge or Hunter, but that's what Garrett needs to get to.
